"Tokyo U-23, Coach Tetsu NAGASAWA's Press Conference Summary"
(Looking back on the game)
"Despite the support and attendance of many fans and supporters from Tokyo, I feel regretful that we ended up with a disappointing loss."
The first half of the game was played calmly, with a back-and-forth rhythm between Tokyo and the opponent, so I thought the game would be decided in the second half.
In the meantime, we were able to break through the center and take the lead early in the second half.
However, after that, when the opponent came out with an aggressive attack, we became passive and our overall movement after taking the ball became sluggish. If we were able to firmly remove the opponent, their momentum could have been contained, but I think we were unable to do that. The opponent had many players with ideas in front of the goal, and we were overwhelmed by them.
I spoke to the players after the game because I think we were inferior to the opponent in the crucial moments of today's match.
It is important to play our own game, but we also want to be conscious of winning each battle in every situation and continue to move forward.
