[Player and Coach Comments]
《Kosuke OTA》
(It was a match in a stadium overflowing with the feeling of Tokyo, surrounded by buildings)
"It was really refreshing. I think there were people peeking from inside the buildings (laughs)"
(Winning was significant)
"Above all, it was great that the team won. Personally, I was glad to be able to play 90 minutes in an official match after a long time."
(What kind of communication did you have with Kubo during the FK scene?)
"I told him that I would fake a kick and run through, and suggested that he kick a fast ball into the open space. As a result, I think it connected well to the goal, which was great. I also had chances for FK and CK, so it would have been even better if I could have made a play that led to a goal."
《Takefusa KUBO》
(Thoughts on scoring a goal)
"Thank you for waiting"
(I often spoke about the word goal)
"I can say this because I scored a goal, but honestly, it feels like it's finally happening. Compared to last season, we were able to create significantly better chances multiple times, so I'm happy that it led to this kind of result."
(Ota said that he thought if he kicked it into that course, it would go in)
"Honestly, I didn't think it was a course that would go in, and I was unsure about what kind of kick to take. Ota told me, 'I think you should kick it here,' and I was able to score by borrowing the experience of someone who has scored many free kicks. I had never scored from that angle before."
(Is the trajectory as you imagined?)
"I was able to kick it on the course I envisioned"
(Although I had scored in U-18 and the national team, regarding scoring a free kick for the top team again)
"I believe that even if the category changes, I just have to trust what I have and play, so in that sense, I think my range has expanded by being able to score from set pieces."
(The first shot was also very close)
"I thought I wouldn't score today because I couldn't finish, and my shooting feeling wasn't good. But I think if it ends well, everything is good."
(I scored a goal and ran towards the coach)
"In a situation where we needed a goal at 0-0 and there were other players available, I was the one chosen for the first card. I felt I had to respond to that trust with results, so my feelings of relief and gratitude were expressed in that action."
(Was there a special feeling?)
"I think I have improved compared to last season, and I have learned a lot. I believe I have reached a level where I can absorb that, so it was good to be able to deliver results for being used continuously up to this point. There is still a long way to go, but I want to ride the wave even further."
(How was the match at PrinceChichibu MemorialRugbyStadium?)
"I thought there was a soccer field in the middle of the city, and I felt a significant psychological impact."
(Towards the league match this weekend)
"I need to carry this goal forward. Whether I can ride this wave is up to me. I want to score again."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
"A match we want to win at all costs. It was very significant to achieve this result. I thought it would be a difficult match, and I believed it would come down to a one-point game from the middle of the match. Kenyo came out, and he scored in last season's Levain Cup, in the home opener against Niigata. This season, I hope this will be a turning point for results in the league as well."
Today, Kashiwa lost, so three teams are tied with 3 points. The next match against Kashiwa will be held at home, and I want to win decisively. I want to prepare well so that we can compete strongly against Kashima, who has been fighting like an Asian champion in the league.
(How was it held at Chichibunomiya?)
"It is a wonderful stadium. I was able to truly feel that it is called the holy place of rugby. There is a step before entering the pitch, and I thought the feeling of stepping in was very wonderful.
The locker room was also wonderful, and it was a stadium where you could see them fighting with all their might.
That's why I think it was a match we absolutely had to win. I'm really glad we were able to earn 3 points.
(What kind of instructions did you give when sending off Kubo? He was the first to hug me after the goal)
"I had been telling him before the match, 'I’m counting on you for a big play,' and I communicated that he would come on depending on the situation. To get results in just 30 minutes shows what kind of player he is. I didn’t expect him to come running over here, so I thought he was a player who could be considerate in that regard (laughs)"
(I think Kubo has grown physically, but in what areas do you feel he has improved?)
"Like everyone else, I think everything has scaled up. He is a player who can excel in any situation, and he has no physical issues even when participating in league matches. I feel that his physicality and endurance have also improved once again."
《Tosu - Lluis CARRERAS Manager Press Conference Summary》
"First of all, I want to express my gratitude to the fans of Sagan Tosu who came all the way here in this bad weather. Our defense was weak in the last league match, but today we were able to connect good defense to finishing. However, we couldn't capitalize on the final opportunities. FC Tokyo has high-quality players, and we were scored on by Takefusa KUBO, a talented player, from a dangerous position with a free kick. This is truly what football is all about."
(Both defense and offense were good, but from the coach's perspective, a draw was a reasonable result)
I think both defense and offense were doing well.
But in the end, quality is important. The opponent had players who could make decisive plays, which led to this result. However, I believe that the attitude shown by the Tosu players today deserved a draw. I think it's important to continue showing that kind of attitude to the fans.
