[Player and Coach Comments]
《Diego OLIVEIRA》
(It was a wonderful goal. Looking back on it)
"I am very happy to have contributed to the victory with my goal. Being able to approach the next match with this good momentum is very valuable."
Regarding the goal, Omori provided a kind pass, so I chose to take a direct shot.
I believe this victory was achieved by the entire team, including the members practicing in Kodaira today, as well as the teammates here.
(Did you anticipate the pass from Omori?)
"Omori is a player of very high quality. He has given me good balls many times since last season and created chances. Today's goal was also made possible because he gave me a gentle pass when I asked for the ball, allowing us to play with the same image."
(We capitalized on the opponent's mistake and connected it to a goal. Were we conscious of applying pressure?)
"Our playing style is to apply pressure from the front and go for the ball. I think that aspect showed well. I believe even tougher battles await us in the future, but more than that, we want to improve our precision."
《Keigo HIGASHI》
"In terms of defense, we talked about playing compactly for the full 90 minutes. Ultimately, I think it was very good as it led to our victory."
(Until Jael was brought on, we were under pressure from the opponent)
"In the first half, we had more time attacking. In the second half, I think we were able to recover in our attacking play thanks to Jael coming on."
It was good that we were able to turn on our attacking switch in the second half and score the opening goal while both teams were using quick attacks as their weapon.
Since Jael entered, the flow has changed significantly, and I believe we were able to fight for 90 minutes by communicating with each other on the pitch.
(We won against Hiroshima and took the top position)
"The battle has just begun, and it is precisely at times like this that we must tighten our focus and prepare for the next match."
There are many points to reflect on from today's match, and we are still hungry for victory. As captain, I want to unite the team and fight in the next match as well.
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
It was a difficult game, but I believe the players fought patiently and we were able to achieve victory.
The Levain Cup is also happening midweek, so I want to prepare thoroughly.
(Regarding the evaluation of defense)
"I thought that the key points would be the ball contests and approaches, and I believe the players understood that well and played accordingly today. There were some dangerous situations like middle shots, but aside from that, they focused very well on dealing with crosses and side plays."
(What was the impact of Kubo's absence?)
"I think it had a huge impact (laughs). He was a player who brought a lot of change, so without him, today, Omori really showcased his strengths in the match. Hiroshima's defense was solid, and breaking through that wasn't an easy task, but the two forwards brought a lot of intensity from the first half, which I believe led to the final goal.
Of course, if Takefusa comes back healthy, I believe we can make various changes.
《Hiroshi JOFUKU, Hiroshima Coach Press Conference Summary》
I would like to express my gratitude for the many people who came out on a weekday night, and I am truly sorry that we could not meet those expectations. That sums it up.
I expected the match to be a tough one that wouldn't allow the opponent to showcase their strengths, and since the opponent has very strong individual skills, we did well in terms of preventing them from expressing that.
The result of both teams having three shots each may not mean much to the viewers, but I believe it reflects the outcome of a battle fought with all their might.
Our challenge is to transition from defense to attack.
I wanted to be able to go deep into the attacking third a little earlier, not just at the end of the match.
It was a match where the issues became clear, so it would be good if we can connect this to the next one.
(It was a goal conceded immediately after the substitutions, regarding the goal scene)
"I haven't reviewed the footage, so I can't say for sure, but the cross came in with a bounce or something, and a low ball rolled to Sho SASAKI. He probably tried to handle it with his head, and it went to Diego OLIVEIRA."
We may have to commend the opponent for the high quality of finishing directly from that position. However, when you are pressed frequently, such accidents can occur. There is a desire to play a bit more in the attacking area.
However, I recognize that the players worked hard to avoid leaving gaps in defense and to effectively neutralize the opponent's strengths, and that effort should not be denied. We must improve the quality from that point onward.
