[Player/Coach Comments]
"Takefusa KUBO"
(So far, we have had two consecutive scoreless draws in official matches)
"Before the match, we all talked about how 'we can't win without scoring'. I am extremely happy that I was able to score and win in the end."
(There were some difficult times in the early stages of the match)
"The temperature was a little higher compared to last week, and both teams had moments where they stopped moving. In that situation, we were conscious of sprinting from the front and chasing the ball from the beginning."
(Looking back on the goal scene)
"Yajima player left the loose ball from the corner kick by putting his body on the line. When it came to me, I had no choice but to shoot, and my body reacted and it went in."
(At the time of taking the corner kick, I was quite far back, but just before the goal scene, I quickly moved forward. What was the image like?)
"Basically, when I'm not the kicker, I'm in a position where I might receive loose balls on both offense and defense. Today, I was preparing while thinking about where the ball might come loose, so I naturally ended up there."
(The ball that spilled out also had a high bounce, making it difficult)
"I was trying to shoot as compactly as possible. The ball flew in a better trajectory than I expected."
(Today's goal was the first goal in the league match in Tokyo)
"It was later than I thought, but a goal is a goal, so I want to be happy honestly"
(This makes it 11 games undefeated)
"Compared to last season, our mindset has become more conscious through daily training. We had a bitter experience last season, so everyone strongly wants to avoid the same feeling. I think there are invisible things like that."
(How has your consciousness changed?)
"I have become more aware of dangerous situations and started thinking about where to receive the ball when I don't have it."
(For the next Sapporo match)
"I saw that Sapporo had a draw earlier, so I want to work hard to maintain Tokyo's momentum and win next week as well."
"Kosuke OTA"
"We didn't feel like we were being beaten by our opponents, and as a result of our perseverance, we were able to win. I think it means a lot to the team that Kubo scored in a game like this."
(The opposing goalkeeper had a fantastic performance)
"Kaminski, who plays at Ajinomoto Stadium, is a god. He stopped the amazing shot from Na SANGHO at the end, and I once again felt that he is one of the best goalkeepers in the J-League. In that situation, it was really great that we were able to score as a team."
(The stability of defense is reflected in the results so far.)
"I still think it's too early to be satisfied here. When the season is over, I want to continue to be told that the defense was stable this season."
"Tokyo - Manager Masaru HASEGAWA Press Conference Summary"
"We were able to win the first game of Reiwa with many fans and supporters coming to the home Ajinomoto Stadium."
I believe that Kenei's goal was a very important result for the team.
Despite having a few injured players, the bench has also become filled with young members. However, the team's unity, or rather, the captain's ability to bring the team together, has remained strong.
Last week, G Osaka and Levain Sendai ended the game in a scoreless draw. During the game, we talked about what to do after taking the ball, but we couldn't quite break through. However, we were able to fight well in the second half.
It was good that we were able to score from set pieces in our own time zone.
This is the first time we were able to score from a set piece in the league match. Next, we have a week off and then three consecutive matches, including the Levain Cup.
"I also want to prepare thoroughly."
(I think Kubo's goal stood out for its technical excellence, but how did it look to the coach?)
"He predicted the drop point of the ball and moved to make a difficult volley shot. His shooting skills are top class even within the team. I thought his skill in that area was truly impressive."
"Iwata - Manager Hiroshi NANAMI Press Conference Summary"
"I think we were able to execute our game plan until the point we conceded."
Towards the end of the first half, a vertical pass was sent to Diego OLIVEIRA and Nagai, creating several opportunities for a central breakthrough through flicks or combinations, but they were able to hold on well.
The number of times we were able to enter the deep area on the side was low, and even when we did, we took our time to defend and were able to create time for organizing our defense in the box. These were the two key points I was thinking about taking care of, so I think the players did a good job.
In the second half, we expected our opponents to get tired, so we wanted to use the center players Taguchi, Uehara, and Yamada, to change the rhythm and tempo with one-touch passes or side changes. We also wanted to effectively use the side players to increase the number of finishes, either by breaking through or with simple crosses.
There were some good scenes in terms of shape, but it was difficult to get to the shape of the shot.
I think the reason for Tokyo's low number of goals conceded is because they are thorough in throwing their bodies near the box, resulting in many scenes where they hit the opponent and cannot reach the finish line easily.
I can confidently say that it was a good match, as it was a complete defeat in the training match held in February, so I can have enough confidence compared to that.
