[Player/Coach Comments]
"Kashif BANGNAGANDE"
"Although it's frustrating to have lost in the end, I want to prepare thoroughly for the second game on Sunday."
(What did you focus on in preparation for this match?)
"I thought it was a rare opportunity for me to play without Ogawa and Jae Suk OH. First of all, I aimed for the team's victory and planned to actively demonstrate my strengths in the game. I thought it would be great if we could grab the win, but unfortunately we lost. If I have another chance, I want to challenge myself to win next time."
(Were you nervous?)
"I was nervous, but players Niwa and Watanabe gave me encouragement, so I was able to smoothly enter the game today. They told me, 'It would be a waste if you played passively here,' so I was conscious of showing my strengths and approached the game."
(How much do you think you were able to show in your play?)
"It was my first official game in a while, but once I got into the game, I was able to play without feeling nervous. However, I still feel like I need to improve my persistence and quality of play in front of the goal. In terms of attacking, I want to focus more on the quality of my crosses."
"Masato MORISHIGE"
(Scene of conceding a goal)
"The whole team stopped moving because the assistant referee raised his flag. However, I think that conceding a goal was a result of spending too much time in that area. It's not the referee's fault, but the consequences of our own choices in playing."
(As a result, one goal was cancelled by VAR and we lost 0-1)
"I can say it was good that that one goal was cancelled. I still think there are plenty of chances in the second game."
(It is very important to finish the final round without conceding any goals)
"We couldn't win, but I think it's important to play like we did today in the second round. In that, we want to seize our chances, aim for the goal, and advance to the prime stage."
"Tokyo - Manager Masaru HASEGAWA Press Conference Summary"
"(When we conceded a goal), I saw the assistant referee raise his flag and stopped my feet, which was a very regrettable mistake. Before the game, I told the players not to stop their feet until the whistle blows because VAR will be used. Just at that moment, the assistant referee raised his flag and G Osaka took advantage of the small gap, resulting in a frustrating outcome. When there are such mistakes, they can lead to goals like that."
Although we were unable to score an away goal, we were able to push forward while managing risks in the second half.
Although we couldn't score an away goal at the last minute, we were able to at least secure a minimum result to continue the fight at home even if we lose. So, let's all fight together and give our all in the next round to advance."
"G Osaka - Tsuneyasu MIYAMOTO Press Conference Summary"
(Started with 4 back after a long time, but the intention and feeling)
"In the midst of a change in system, everyone communicated and I could hear voices from the pitch about when to take the ball and what kind of slide was needed, so I think that was good."
In terms of attack, there is also the advantage of being able to exchange passes at a closer distance than the system we have been using so far, and when considering the characteristics of the players, we decided to go with a 4-back formation. Our team's style is originally to have possession of the ball and advance more advantageously, and I wanted to use today as an opportunity to regain that aspect.
(Today, VAR was applied, but it was a negative decision for G Osaka. As a coach, how did you feel about the game being interrupted?)
"I think it was good that everyone was able to clear their heads."
The main referee made a firm decision on that play, and I thought there would be no lingering doubts or frustrations for everyone. As for the time of such interruptions, I think we, including those who are present, will get used to it.
