"FC Tokyo U-23 Tetsu Nagasawa Press Conference Summary"
"Despite having a J1 match in Matsumoto, I would like to express my gratitude to those who chose to come and watch the U-23 game, and at the same time, I am extremely sorry that we were unable to earn any points."
The game started with a lot of influence from the wind and a lot of second ball play. We were a little confused by the condition of the turf and the wind at the beginning, but once we settled down, the game progressed smoothly and it became a back-and-forth battle of whether or not we could convert our chances. While the opponent scored a beautiful goal from a cross ball on the far side, we also had opportunities in the first half with Miyazaki's volley shot and shots in front of the goal, as well as two shots from Takumi NAKAMURA. I think that was the key to the game.
This is also a challenge for the top team, but they have improved to the point of being able to shoot. In terms of competition, whether they can "decide or not" is not about the team as a whole, but about each individual showing their own task and existence as a group, so in that sense, it is still unsatisfactory.
As expected, not only scoring during difficult times, but also being able to put pressure on the opponent during times when we are being pushed back, we can push back. However, we ended up falling back and conceding goals, so while learning from that, we want to focus on "what can I do as an individual". In today's game, we also focused on the battle for the ball, and while we were able to dominate at times, it was tough during other times. I believe that a player who can dominate in those tough moments can survive in this world alone. We want to continue striving for high standards.
We are working hard here at U-23 to contribute to Coach Hasegawa's football, so if we can produce results here, it will open the way to the top team. Especially in the crucial games towards the end of the league, if even one player can step up and make a difference, it will bring opportunities. In that sense, the performance was not bad, but in terms of personal improvement, it was a game where we could have taken one more step.
"We haven't won in a while, so I really want to win the next Kumamoto match."
