[Player and Coach Comments]
Masato MORISHIGE
"In the second half, there were times when we were on the attack, so I thought we would eventually score. Also, I felt it was important to keep the defense at zero and play simply."
In the last two matches, we have not been able to score, but we have experienced such periods before. It is important not to concede goals during such times.
There was a fierce battle in the matchup against the opponent's FW.
"I want to have the upper hand over the opponent and my role is to prevent the opponent's FW from doing their job. The defensive line, including Muroya, Watanabe, and Jae Suk OH, was able to respond well together.
Regarding both full-backs, I think they were able to maintain stable defense by working hard in defense while also attacking.
(In scenes where we were countered and conversely scenes where we attacked, regarding the fact that it was 0-0)
"Ending without conceding a goal is the minimum result.
There have been many matches with this kind of development until now, and the defense line needs to consider whether they can end it with a zero.
I believe this point will have a significant impact in the future.
Scoring goals is the most difficult part of soccer. Once again, we can all work on our challenges together, so we will tackle clear issues as a team without hesitation. Until then, I want the defense line to maintain focus like today and support the attacking players.
(Did you hear the cheers from the fans and supporters?)
"It was a wonderful support. Seeing the fans and supporters in an away game gives me courage and fills me with power."
Kento HASHIMOTO
(Both teams had chances, and it must have been difficult to maintain balance as a defensive midfielder)
"There were long periods where we were pushing forward, and while we had chances, the opponent was also looking to score on the counter. In that situation, I was playing with an awareness of managing risks while supplying passes behind the opponent. There were a few big chances for the opponent, but we were able to defend as a team."
(There was a moment when the opponent's header hit the post)
I think that scene was a result of the entire team throwing their bodies to defend and preventing a goal.
The entire team has a strong determination not to concede goals and is able to play. From now on, I want to think about how to connect our resilient defense to scoring.
(Getting 1 point at this stage of the season is somewhat difficult to evaluate)
"Honestly, it's frustrating, and it was a match we needed to win. Every match is going to be difficult, and I always feel that there are no easy games."
However, we were able to play our football in today's match, and I believe the result of not conceding any goals will lead to the next step. Now, we just need to score.
I want to improve the quality of each play from practice and prepare again.
(Today marks the halfway point of the 8 consecutive away matches. It is indeed challenging)
"Winning away is difficult. While the results have not been favorable, I believe we have been able to showcase the soccer we have built up to this point. I want the 3 points quickly, but I think what is needed now is how to turn this situation into results."
We are creating chances, but we are unable to score.
I think we are able to create chances, but we are not creating many big chances. I want to improve the accuracy of the final pass and increase the situations where we boldly aim for the goal.
This season so far, there have been matches where we picked up 3 points despite having few chances. I believe that there is some luck involved in that, so I think it is important to continue.
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
"Many fans and supporters came from Tokyo and cheered for us, so I wanted to respond to that. They were cheering very loudly even before the match started."
The players fought well towards the Matsumoto goal for 90 minutes. We couldn't quite break through to score. Regarding the goals, I want to think it over and work on it while also considering our condition. I don't think getting 1 point away is a bad result, so without being pessimistic, I aim for 3 points next time. The next match at the Tosu stadium is a very difficult place, but I want to have a tough match and compete.
(Although we earned 1 point, was the stance to defend firmly?)
"Rather than fearing conceding goals and protecting the 1 point, the desire was to score at all costs. The players played with the mindset that even if we conceded, we would recover. Today, the Matsumoto players fought well, and despite the changes in the lineup, they showed their determination and fought hard.
I don't think we were able to break through in a good way. Since we can't win without scoring, I want to provide the team with the kind of motivation that allows us to take chances.
(It seems like we fought on the opponent's turf. It must have been difficult to break through in areas with no space)
"Normally, Matsumoto would actively slide in from both sides to defend. However, I think there was a directive from Coach Sorimachi today to not push forward too much and to eliminate space.
Today we used Mita, but we need to work harder to exploit the opponent's back even in tight spaces. In the second half, the defensive midfielder joined the attack and was able to create some close chances. We will need to push further.
However, matches at Alwin are difficult. It is not a stadium where points can be easily taken. The players are also fighting with power, so today cannot be helped. I believe we can only switch our mindset moving forward.
《Matsumoto - Yasuharu SORIMACHI Coach Press Conference Summary》
"We need to earn 3 points, and that applies to any opponent."
I have prepared with the intention of working backwards from such points. At this point, we are at the top of the top in Japan, so I was aware that it would be a difficult game, but I think we did well until the final whistle blew.
I think the smell of goals is more on our side than on the other. Of course, Tokyo has the ability to break through individually, and they have speed and finishing power. In that context, keeping the goals conceded to zero is a positive outcome, but it's a bit disappointing that we didn't score any goals. However, I believe it was a match that can lead to the next one.
(Although we created several decisive moments, we ultimately couldn't score a goal)
"There were several opportunities where we could have created a numerical advantage, but at those times, we either played the ball back or rushed and couldn't make the best choice; such situations occurred in both the first and second halves.
We need to focus on training our attacks in wide spaces from now on. I think we were able to show some strengths in our attacking play, such as forward momentum and the dynamism of the front line.
