[Player and Coach Comments]
《Arthur SILVA》
"I think today was a very good match. It's difficult to face a wonderful opponent away. In the first half, we scored multiple goals, and personally, I was really happy to get my first goal. From here, I want to keep the momentum going and push through to the end."
(This was my first start and my first goal)
"I thought it would be very difficult to score the opening goal in a match like today. However, we managed to score early, and I was able to add another goal. I think that helped the team settle down a bit. Scoring three goals in the first half was fantastic for the team."
(It was a goal cut in from the left side, but were there any other options?)
"Today, the coach told me to aim for the shot. My teammates also encouraged me to play aggressively, so in that moment, I aimed for the goal without hesitation."
《Kento HASHIMOTO》
"In the last few matches, we haven't been able to earn points, and I've been feeling frustrated. I think we fought aggressively as a team from the first half. I'm really glad we were able to earn 3 points for the first time in a while."
(There were no issues with my condition even though I had just returned from the Japan national team)
"I strongly believe that I must demonstrate what I felt with the Japan national team in the league matches and continue to grow. I also feel a strong sense of responsibility to lead the team, and I have almost no awareness of being tired or wanting to take a break."
(Looking back at the scoring scene)
"Reaching the ball just in time by stretching my foot is my strength. I'm glad I was able to express that on the pitch today.
Also, I am always aware of actively breaking into the opponent's area in front of the goal, and the same goes for defense. I believe that showing my presence in both offense and defense is my role, so I am happy that it took shape today.
(Hasn't it become clear what we need to do as a team?)
"As a team, we always talk about continuing to play our style of soccer. We were really well prepared as a team for today's match. I believe we were able to demonstrate that well today."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
I'm glad we managed to win somehow.
The players have been in a series of very tense matches, struggling to showcase their full potential. I think it was good that today they were able to enter the match with a clear mind.
In the end, I thought the temperature would drop a bit more, but it was surprisingly humid, and among the players who were quite exhausted, I believe winning in this way is a very significant victory.
I think fans and supporters have been very anxious up to this point.
I think there will be tough matches continuing from here, so I want us to come together and fight as one.
(Today we challenged ourselves by changing the system and members, and achieved results. What was the intention behind this?)
"First of all, five players were absent during the national team week, and they returned two days ago. There wasn't much time to prepare. Recently, Kobe has been in very good form, so I thought it would be a difficult match if we didn't prepare well. Especially if we let Samper play freely, it would be a tough match, so I wanted Takahagi to take care of that, and since he is a player who can create changes in attack, I hoped he would control the forwards well. Regarding Arthur, I used him because he has been in good form in recent practices and training matches."
(Today, after a series of matches where we couldn't showcase our full potential, it seems we have finally broken through, and the trigger for that was)
"Every match at this time of year is tense, but after being at the top for a long time, the desire to win and to finish strong gradually turned into a mindset of wanting to just hold on, and I believe we became too passive. Even today, there were moments when we were pushed back at the end, but I think we managed to use our time well and maintained our fighting spirit until the very end. The preparation we did over the past two weeks for the match against Kobe was significant.
The players have been very enthusiastic in their training, and in a way, I think the way we lost in the last match has become a catalyst for us to move forward positively. We still have five matches left, and I believe we will continue to have thrilling games, but I want to fight through them and achieve victory. I think that will lead to the strength of our team, so I want to fight with a strong mindset.
《Kobe - Thorsten FINK Coach Press Conference Summary》
"We conceded a goal in the first 15 minutes, and it seemed that the new defensive line was not yet familiar with each other; it gave the impression that it might take some time for their relationships to improve."
With the opponent's two super goals, the team lost confidence and became timid, which I think was reflected in their play. After that, Tokyo scored the third goal with a wonderful counterattack.
What I conveyed at halftime was to raise our concentration and to play better football than our opponents in the second half, aiming to score while keeping a clean sheet. I believe we saw more of the shape I wanted in the second half. We attacked from the sides, scored goals, and kept the opponent at zero, but ultimately, with the momentum from the first half, it felt like the team that should have won did win.
First, I want to analyze today's match and apply the good and bad points to the next match. With players Vermaelen and Oosaki returning to the defense line, I think a familiar feeling will come back to the defense.
(It seems that the opponent has effectively countered us again, following the match against Hiroshima?)
"In soccer, it is natural for each team to analyze their opponents and devise tactics. I believe the opponent analyzed us well and built their plan, but we are doing the same. For that plan to succeed, there are various elements involved, such as the players' form, how much confidence each player has, and the rhythm they have. Today, we conceded the first goal early on, and the second goal was more about an individual’s outstanding ability rather than a goal created by their plan. I don’t think anyone goes into a match thinking about being down 0-2, so our plan was a bit disrupted, but we will continue to build our plans. I think we should acknowledge that Tokyo performed better today."
