[Player and Coach Comments]
《Diego OLIVEIRA》
(This was the first goal in 6 matches. Reflecting on the penalty scene)
"The scene where we got the penalty was when Muroya entered deep into the penalty area. I was able to take the penalty with a calm mind as usual and scored the goal."
(Not only in attack, but also contributed greatly in defense)
"This is not just me, but the result of the entire team working together to demonstrate our strength in both offense and defense. All the players on the field and those who did not play today combined their efforts to achieve this victory. Today, we want to praise ourselves."
(I missed a penalty against Iwata last time. What is your mindset when taking it today?)
"I didn't think about that at all. I was calm before taking it today. During practice, I was also in a very good mental state when taking penalties, so I want to celebrate with everyone."
(Is the condition of your foot okay?)
"I think it's due to accumulated fatigue. There are two weeks until the next league match, so I want to properly heal and prepare again."
《Sei MUROYA》
"Iwata came out with momentum from the start of the first half to secure their J1 survival. In response, I think the match content became very high-level. During that time, the team managed to endure well in the first half and was able to capitalize on opportunities in the second half. I believe we were able to conduct an ideal match."
(Today, we scored the winning goal from Muroya's penalty kick steal)
"In the first half, we had several chances, and I wanted Hashimoto to look a bit more to the sides and to pass the ball since there was space in front of him. As a result of making good adjustments in the second half, it led to a goal, and I was very happy that it turned out to be the play I had envisioned."
I think this is the result of hard work from the entire team, so I want to thank Diego OLIVEIRA for scoring the goal, not just for my own efforts.
(It is a victory without conceding a goal. The coordination in defense)
"Tokyo has a foundation of playing hard in both offense and defense. The result of everyone on the team working hard, not just the defense line, is that we did not concede any goals.
I think today's victory is the result of everyone giving their all. There are three more matches, and I believe we will have similar games, so I want to continue fighting with the same intensity.
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
It was a tough match, but the players put their feelings forward and did their best. I would also like to thank the many fans and supporters. With this result, we can return to our home at Ajinomoto for the next match, and I am proud of the players.
The match was difficult as Iwata came in aggressively. However, we played calmly amidst that. In the second half, we stepped up a gear, earned a penalty from Muroya's run, and Diego calmly converted it.
Last year's match against Iwata left a bad impression as I missed a penalty, but I was able to score this time. Even with several accidents happening, the experienced players encouraged each other, and we managed to win without conceding any goals. I believe this victory will lead us to the next step.
(Away 8 consecutive matches. We finished with a record of 4 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses, and returned to the top position. Looking back, what do I think?)
"In the end, it was a series of very tough matches. In the beginning, I had a naive thought that we could manage somehow, but the atmosphere in each stadium was different, and in away games, it often became difficult as the opponent's cheers grew louder towards the end of the match. When the away matches continued, the schedule felt short in terms of intervals, and we started winning from the match against Kobe two games ago, but if that hadn't resulted in a good outcome, it could have led to a difficult situation until the end. I think it was also tough for the players not to be able to play at home. I believe it was challenging for the fans and supporters to come and cheer from afar. However, in the end, the strength of everyone supporting Tokyo came together, and we somehow managed to return home at the top position. I truly want to express my gratitude to the players, the club, and the fans and supporters."
(What is the evaluation of player Okazaki, who participated on short notice?)
"He was very good. Until last season, when he suddenly came in, he would often freeze and not be able to play as usual, but today I think he played calmly and wonderfully."
《Iwata - FERNANDO JUBERO Manager Press Conference Summary》
"It was a very intense and tough match. We had a very good fight in the first half. We were able to create several chances to get close to the goal. In the second half, we gave away a penalty to the opponent, which allowed them to settle down, but we continued to fight. After that, we created several chances to get close to the opponent's goal, but ultimately we couldn't score. However, we played well today. Still, as a team, I can't say that everything was positive."
(3 matches remaining. What kind of attitude do you want the players to fight with?
"I expect the players to continue doing what they have been doing. With three matches remaining and as long as there is even a slight possibility, we will maintain our fighting spirit until the end. Just as the players fought in today's match, I will continue to demand that they fight. I believe that good results await us ahead."
