《FC Tokyo U-23 Coach Tetsu NAGASAWA Press Conference Summary》
"First of all, I am grateful that about 2,000 people came to watch. Many fans and supporters of Gamba Osaka U-23 also came to see the match, and I believe the players were able to play in a good environment."
In the game, while Gamba Osaka U-23 was building up their play, we tried to create a difference in our transitions. We were able to control those transitional moments throughout the match and identify the spaces to exploit instantly. This was possible because we have been building up training with the entire top team throughout the year, and I believe we were able to convey the top team's concepts to the U-18 players as well. Although it came down to the very end, I think it was very good that our decision-making became more accurate.
Although conceding a goal at the start of the second half is still a sign of our immaturity, we have focused on scoring and winning, so I believe we were able to play positively without looking down even after conceding a goal.
Throughout the entire season, I feel that the young players, including those from the U-18 team, are growing strong as the members change every match. Having also been a youth coach, I wouldn't have understood how much potential young players have without experiencing being the U-23 coach this season. Today, Biao (Nattawut) scored two goals, but he has also faced considerable challenges up to this point. There were times when he couldn't play, but since I started using him in the latter part of the season, he has begun to score.
In yesterday's J1 League, we ended the season just one step away from the championship, but I told the players, 'Today is not the last game of the season, but a starting game for you.' I believe it was a good start for them heading into next season, and for players like Lins and Biao who play for other teams, I think it was also a good start.
However, I believe that it is not just about winning or losing as a team, but whether it leads to victories in the J1 League and how each individual performs. Therefore, I think we must continue to work hard every day to produce even stronger individuals.
