Players celebrating Tsuyoshi WATANABE's goal
[Player and Coach Comments]
《Tsuyoshi WATANABE》
"It was a long and difficult period of self-restraint. The atmosphere without fans is unlike anything we've experienced before. We didn't start the match well. But I think it's significant that we were able to earn 3 points."
(I think we had a frustrating experience at this stadium last season)
"Last season, I debuted here in the Levain Cup and scored a goal, but we lost after Orunga took the goal from us. In the same situation, I want to repay that debt and not let Orunga play freely. I feel like I am gradually growing."
(After being defeated in the first match against Olunga, it has been a year. Today, I managed to contain him well)
"There were a few dangerous moments today, but last season we conceded two goals and today we kept a clean sheet. That was one of our goals. I believed that if I could contain him, it would boost my confidence, so I felt I have grown."
(Looking back at the goal scene?)
"From Ogawa's corner kick, it curved in and flowed to the far side, and I was preparing to make a return. When I looked to the far side, Morishige won the aerial duel at a high point and delivered the ball inside. All I had to do was touch it."
I thought about trying to decide without rushing, and for a moment it crossed my mind, but I was able to make a calm decision.
I was able to win with my own goals while keeping a solid zero. I feel a sense of fulfillment as a center-back. I want to have more matches like this.
《Adailton》
"The first half was a tough match, but I believed that if we continued, we would have chances. It was an aggressive game, but in the second half, with the opponent being sent off, I think we were ultimately able to turn it into a victory."
(On the side, the positions of the FW changed rapidly during the match, but were we able to play smoothly?)
"Especially at the start of the match, I was playing a role to pull forward as much as possible.
Among them, Diego OLIVEIRA, Leandro, and on the right side, Higashi formed a good combination. I believe that not only the forwards but the entire team was able to cooperate and play both offensively and defensively.
《Tokyo・Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
"In the first half, both teams showed stiffness, and the match was unsettled."
I was prepared for a tough match against Kashiwa. It was a situation where it would depend on which team could exploit a weakness and score the first goal. There were some dangerous moments in the first half, but going into halftime at zero was not a bad outcome. In the second half, we took the lead with a set piece and then managed to control the game. As we approached this match, the players had various thoughts, but I believe this will allow us to settle down and face future matches with confidence.
I would like to thank everyone in the J-League. Although the number of infected people in Tokyo is still increasing, I want to express my gratitude to everyone involved in Tokyo for being able to reach this day by properly practicing self-restraint.
(What does this one victory mean?)
"Since we were able to start with a victory, it couldn't be better. We have a series of matches against strong teams ahead, so I want everyone to work together and fight while monitoring the players' conditions."
(What is the evaluation of Abe, who made his first start in the league match?)
"In the second half, moving him to the attacking midfielder position really brought out his strengths. In the first half, he was a bit stiff and struggled against a very hard-working opponent, but in the second half, he became aggressive and it was good."
(The system changes rapidly, and player positioning is also adjusted flexibly. What strategies did you bring into the match?)
"Kashiwa is a team that is good at utilizing the vital area."
I thought it might be better to change the shape a bit and started from there. Diego OLIVEIRA was unable to play due to injury, so I considered what type would be good for the attacking midfielder position. I was a bit too hasty in the first half today, but after moving Keigo to the defensive midfield in the second half, the midfield connection improved.
Leandro and Adailton have also started to play freely. However, overall, the combination is still lacking. I think we need to improve our precision further.
《Kashiwa - NELSINHO Coach》
"Although we lost the match, it was the first game of the league restart after a 90-day suspension."
The players fulfilled their roles throughout the match. Although they couldn't convert the scoring opportunities, they were able to create several.
We conceded a goal from a set piece, and the result is disappointing, but it was a positive match where the things we have been working on were reflected in our performance.
There are still technical challenges, such as not being able to convert scoring opportunities. I believe that the sense of the game will improve as we continue to play matches. I want to prepare thoroughly for the next game.
(What was the intention behind bringing in Kamiyama and Nakama after one player was sent off?)
"Tactically, it was a situation where we were one player short, so the aim was to bring in a creative player to equalize after being one goal behind. I substituted Toshima for Otani in the defensive midfield, and both Kamiyama and Nakama are players who can run in both offense and defense. In particular, I instructed Kamiyama to create a starting point in the attack.
Esaka, Segawa, and Nakama created chances with efficient ball feeds to Orunga.
We changed our tactics with that aim in mind.
