[Player and Coach Comments]
《Kensuke NAGAI》
(Exploiting space and utilizing speed were functioning as expected)
"I thought that by taking action myself, the opponent's defensive line would try to stop me, so I aimed for the moment when the line stopped for Diego OLIVEIRA and other players to move forward. In the assist scene, I believed that if I could exploit the space behind, it would create a chance, so I focused on the quality of the cross, and in the end, Leandro finished it off well. I thought it would be tough if we didn't convert the few chances we had, so it was good."
(First starting appearance of the season. Thoughts on the play)
"I tried to give my all as far as I could go. I wasn't in condition to play for a long time, so I aimed to help the team."
(The stadium where we felt regret in the final match of last season. What kind of feelings were there?)
"In the last match, watching from above the stands, I felt regret myself, and it was a game where our team's strengths didn't really show. Returning to our roots, playing with heartfelt effort is today's theme. Since we lost to Yokohama FM last time, we focused on playing to win."
Leandro
(What was your aim for the goal from the free kick)
"The wall was low, so I could see the path to the goal. I think there was some luck involved too."
(Looking back at the team's third goal)
"I saw that Nagai was breaking down the side, so I thought a pass would surely come and entered the area. A wonderful ball came, and I was glad to score and truly happy."
(Came on midway through the first half and mainly played on the left side. He received quite a few fouls, but was he aiming to win set pieces, or was Yokohama FM's pressure intense?)
"I think both are true, but there were times when I kept the ball and drew fouls. Yokohama FM's defense was intense, but I was able to progress the game well, so that was good."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Coach Kenta HASEGAWA》
I knew it would be a tough match.
Having suffered a complete defeat in the previous match, we were conscious of starting strong in today's game, but we allowed the first goal.
However, the difference from the previous match was that after conceding the first goal, we were able to switch gears and fight aggressively, managing to equalize in a short time.
I believe the players approached the match with a rebound mentality and a strong mindset.
Also, it was very reassuring that Nagai has returned.
He played a key role in switching between offense and defense, and today I was able to reaffirm the significance of his presence.
I hope that from now on, they will make up for what has happened so far and continue to excel.
Everyone started the match with intensity, and in the final stages, Morishige led the team and kept encouraging us until the end, even as we were cramping up. In the previous match, he was involved in the goals conceded with uncharacteristic play, but today he showed a very strong presence.
I think Nagai will return early, but there are concerns about that.
"After talking with the doctor, it was clear that I wouldn't return to my original condition unless I participated in official matches. At first, the impact of the injury was strong, but over the past few weeks, my condition has improved significantly, so I had to include him in these tough matches at the end."
I think that since he has been able to use his arms quite a bit in practice, he himself has probably lost some of his fear.
(In the final match of last season, we lost to Yokohama FM, but looking back at today's battle)
"Considering how to utilize Nagai's driving force, the key today was Tagawa. The moment we equalized was a result of Tagawa making a good run. In the last few matches, the entire team had not been able to generate the driving force behind us, so Tagawa and Nagai led us well in that aspect.
Regarding the system, I knew who our opponent would be after the restart, and I had anticipated that Kento would be absent, so I prepared while considering whether to use one or two defensive midfielders. Each configuration in the midfield has its advantages, so I want to utilize them effectively.
(Hotaka NAKAMURA was fighting hard)
"With consecutive matches ahead, I think the SB needs to rotate the players effectively. The last match was a bitter experience, but we need to utilize Hotaka well to endure the consecutive matches. I was watching to see how far he could go today, and he was improving as the match went on, showing his strengths. I hope for further leaps and performances. Playing strongly for 90 minutes was significant for the team."
(5 substitutions were made, but regarding the intention)
"I wanted to give Kōsuke more playing time, but we have been pushing through a tight schedule with consecutive matches, and Yokohama FM is a tough opponent."
You understood it well and Joan OUMARI was in good form during the practice match, so I wanted to use him in one of the three consecutive matches. Being able to use him today was also significant for the team.
《Yokohama FM - Summary of Coach Ange POSTECOGLOU's Press Conference》
"We lost, but I think we were able to control the game and it was a good match. We were caught off guard by quick counterattacks and set pieces, but we were able to create many chances. Overall, I feel it was a good game."
(It seemed that the defense struggled against Tokyo's attacking lineup, but please share your evaluation of the defense)
"I think there were parts we could have done a little better, but the opponent had strong individual players. Rather than the defense, the reason for our defeat was that we couldn't capitalize on our chances and score goals."
(Nakahara, who started in two consecutive matches, will start on the bench. Is there a struggle as a coach to not be able to assemble the best lineup?)
"Since the restart, many teams have been plagued by injuries. I want to protect the players to avoid injuries. I have a strong desire to compete in the best condition throughout the long season, so this is the decision I made."
