[Player and Coach Comments]
《Diego OLIVEIRA》
I think we were able to progress the match well in the second half.
"Today was an away game, and considering we were up against a strong G Osaka team with a lot of talent, it was easy to imagine that it would be a difficult match. However, in the second half, we made adjustments, and when space opened up, we were able to launch quick counterattacks, which allowed us to execute our ideal offense."
(Recently, I have been playing more on the side rather than as a forward, but my evaluation)
"Playing on the side is something I did a lot during my time in Brazil, so I can play without any particular discomfort. This position requires a lot of movement, so I think it is a challenging position, but I want to play in a way that contributes to the team and I want to work hard so that the team can improve even more."
(Looking back at the opening goal)
"Nagai put pressure on the opposing defender and chased after the ball multiple times. He was trying to get past the GK, but it ended up spilling to me. There was no GK in the goal, so it wasn't with my dominant foot, but I think it was good that I was able to accurately hit the target."
(Today's goal marks my 50th goal in J1. Including the fact that it led to victory, my thoughts are)
"I am happy to have scored a goal and achieved victory in today's match. I came from the other side of the world and am now playing here. To score a milestone goal of 50 in such an environment is incredible. I want to continue practicing more, score more goals, and contribute to the team."
《Joan OUMARI》
(Q, please review the game)
"G Osaka really worked hard and launched good attacks, so it was not an easy match. However, in the second half, which we entered with a tie, we were able to play our own soccer. I think everyone was focused and we were able to demonstrate our team strength.
I am really happy because this was my first victory in a full match in J1 since coming to Tokyo.
However, the next match is coming without any break for us. The next match will be the Levain Cup, and we want to prepare well as a united team and absolutely win.
(What mindset did you have while playing to contain G Osaka's attacking line?)
"I knew that G Osaka had wonderful players even before the match.
In the final stages, we also initiated a power play, but regardless of the opponent, it was important to first show our own strength. We believed in our abilities and made it a point to cover for each other's mistakes, focusing on our teamwork to compete. I believe that contributed to today's victory, and moving forward, no matter the opponent, we want to stick to our style of soccer and play with that mindset.
Akihiro HAYASHI
(G Osaka's player Watanabe took two shots from close range, but I managed to defend well. Looking back at that scene)
"In that moment, my honest impression is that it wasn't so much about thinking and stopping, but rather about being able to react. Recently, I've been able to practice with that kind of awareness, so I think that was a result of my training in stopping shots."
(Reflecting on the entire match)
"The first half had an undesired goal conceded. We managed to score first but ended up conceding a goal while trying to keep it at zero. It was very frustrating. However, from that point on, considering it was an away game, I focused on keeping it to just one goal conceded as we approached the match."
(About the defensive formation)
"It would be best if we could apply pressure from the front, but during this series of matches in the summer, the risk is that the team tends to spread out."
I believe that when we can go for it, we can maximize our strengths, but even when we are organized and defending well, we are not playing a passive defense. I think we were able to maintain a defense that was somewhat as expected throughout the match. I believe it would be good if we can maintain control in defense as well.
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Coach Kenta HASEGAWA》
"We took the lead in the first half, and although we had a tough period afterward, I believe that keeping the opponent's score to just one goal led to our performance in the second half. In the second half, we made some adjustments to the system, and Takahagi added some flair to our attack."
In the first half, we were unable to move the ball forward smoothly, but in the second half, we were able to play the game at our own rhythm and tempo. Although we struggled to score additional goals, we were ultimately able to score and finish the match, which was good.
In the last match, the substituted players were unable to change the flow of the game. We talked about fighting as a team once again, regardless of who starts or comes on as a substitute, and to play Tokyo's style of football. I believe it was very good that all the players came together to defeat G Osaka.
Since there is the Levain Cup in three days, I want to prepare thoroughly.
(What instructions were given to reorganize during halftime)
"After we regained possession, we were a bit flustered, so I provided feedback on where the open spaces were. I think we changed the midfield system, and our rhythm improved in both offense and defense. I hope Leandro can also change positions and, while playing the match, discover new options and expand our possibilities."
(Learning from the failure to hold on in the match against Hiroshima with a 5-back formation, we successfully held on in the end)
"After the match against Hiroshima, I told the players that we should adopt a clear approach in away games. It was a directive to defend with 5 players instead of a half-hearted 3-back formation. I had communicated this to the players who have been with us since my first and second years, but since there have been changes in the squad, I reiterated this after the Hiroshima match. I believe that today each position fulfilled their roles properly."
(Regarding the evaluation of Abe and Arthur SILVA)
"Both of them are doing well.
Hirato was able to rest a bit on the bench in the last match, but he is basically an indispensable player for the team. Arthur SILVA started on the bench in the match before last to reduce his playing time, but right now he is a player that cannot be replaced. The same can be said for Takahagi. Recently, Shinada was used, and in the inside half, Mita also started, so we need to think about the midfield as we head into the autumn when the heat and fatigue will start to show. However, both players have become irreplaceable assets.
《G Osaka - Tsuneyasu MIYAMOTO Coach Press Conference Summary》
(Although we haven't been able to score additional points, the correction points that Coach Miyamoto is considering for this match include)
"It's not that we don't have chances. For example, there were scenes where we swung our feet in front of the goal, and there were also scenes where we connected with headers. There were moments where we could have taken the lead at 1-1, but in the second and third attacks, there were fewer opportunities in the second half. I think we were a bit low in terms of regaining possession of the ball, and I would like to analyze it a bit more by watching the footage."
