[Player and Coach Comments]
《Hirotaka MITA》
(Looking back at the goal scene)
"In that moment, I passed the ball vertically to Adailton after it came to me, but it was called a foul. However, the ball was well stopped, so we quickly restarted the play, and the opponent's movement had also stopped. I was able to leave them behind and score a goal, so it was good."
I think there was an accent added to the attack.
"Today's match was a game where I was personally very motivated.
The day before, I spoke with Coach Hasegawa, who told me he wanted me to get more involved in the attack, so I wanted to meet his expectations. I'm glad I was able to deliver results and achieve victory today.
(Today was a match where the strengths were prominently displayed)
"As young players are emerging, I have to remind myself that I need to take the lead more, and I entered today's match with that mindset.
I believe my strength is the ability to touch the ball whether I'm in the center, up front, or at the back.
I hadn't been able to play like that since returning to Tokyo, so it wasn't the usual structured play, but I was able to play naturally.
(Thoughts about my former club Sendai)
"It was a team that took great care of me, and I spent two seasons there where I was able to thrive.
I think I was able to play interesting football during my time in Sendai, and I am truly grateful for the club that holds a special place in my heart.
Akihiro HAYASHI
(Reflecting on what I felt throughout the match and the big save scene in the second half)
"Today, throughout the match, I often hesitated on the passing options when kicking. There were limited places to create time as a team.
Sendai gave the impression that they did not allow the game to unfold as we had hoped.
Regarding the opponent's shooting scene in the second half, I went for the catch but was aware that no one was around me. Since it didn't fit well in my hands, I looked around again and chose to roll the ball to the side of the goal to take my time.
At the moment of the shot, the ball was not in my line of sight, so I reacted after it came out, but I was conscious of not making a big action to match the timing. Recently, I have been focusing on not making preliminary movements and not widening my stance while playing. There are aspects that can only be understood by watching the footage, but I was paying attention to those points while playing.
(The coach mentioned that he would focus on the details that could not be addressed in the Oita match. How the team and the GK perceived that point)
"Details mean that regardless of the content, we must achieve results."
Therefore, even if the team is not performing well, or if the defense is not functioning properly, it is necessary to ensure that we can defend firmly. The match against Kobe was similar; how we manage the final moments is crucial. I felt that if we had been more creative in managing our time in that match, we could have held on for the win. The same goes for the match against Oita; after turning the game around to 2-1, I think we need to focus on the details in our team's approach.
In that sense, we were able to unite as a team to win today.
(Is it possible that the details change with awareness? There must be difficult aspects physically and mentally due to fatigue during consecutive matches)
"In consecutive matches, there are times when we can't reach where we normally would. Sometimes younger players participate instead of the usual members.
In special circumstances, there are indeed times when the collaboration is not in sync. However, it is not acceptable to be unable to win without that.
I believe that being able to win with any members is what it means to pay attention to the details.
We will play based on the opponent's situation, our own condition, and the members, depending on the environment at that time, but I believe we must show strength in any situation to catch up with Kawasaki.
(Recently, there have been times when we had players in front of the goal but still conceded. Regarding today's team's defense)
"There were many situations where we were being overwhelmed, but in the end, the entire team put their bodies on the line to defend."
Especially the defense line held up well. It's better not to have a match develop like this, but with a strong defense, sometimes we have to play matches where if we score one goal, we can pull off a victory.
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
"We talked about focusing on the details in today's match. The players expressed the intensity and attention to detail in both offense and defense that they couldn't achieve in the last match against Oita, and they were able to fight with determination until the very end. Scoring additional goals is the next challenge. With the match against Cerezo Osaka coming in two days, we want to switch gears and move forward."
(A wonderful final goal. It demonstrated the high quality of our practice, but what kind of mindset)
"I have been conveying the importance of being focused on the competition. Today, Mita played with great spirit. He has been working hard recently, but I felt he still hasn't fully tapped into his potential. I spoke with Mita a bit, and he approached today's match with a strong determination. I believe that led to today's final goal."
(I felt the intensity of the defense, especially the two players, Mita and Uchida, did not allow the opponent's defensive midfielder to do their job)
"In the last match, our defense was quite lax, so we had a meeting to discuss details such as closing the gap and positioning. We don't have much time for practicing the attacking part, but if we don't score when we have the chance, we will face consequences.
Today, being able to score the opening goal was a significant point. I believe it was thanks to Mita and Uchida for their high-intensity play.
(Nagai played well defensively after coming on as a substitute)
"Although we were pushed back, the defense had no major issues, so rather than dropping too deep, Nagai chased three times and four times to prevent long balls from being played forward, contributing solidly for the team."
《Sendai - Takashi KIYAMA Coach Press Conference Summary》
"It was a match where we really wanted to stop the losing streak, but conceding a goal early in the game was truly painful.
After that, we wanted to be a bit more aggressive in using the sides to attack, and while we created several chances, to be honest, we wanted to push a bit more.
In the second half, while the opponent was solidly defending and aiming for a second goal, I think we also pressed forward, but we couldn't reach the goal.
(Regarding the adoption of a three-back formation from the start)
"Considering that we did this with essentially three days of preparation, I think the system itself wasn't that bad. There are certainly finer details that need to be addressed, but I don't think it's bad at all."
(Which side's aim was greater, offense or defense?)
"I always have the desire to attack, but considering the current situation of the team, I first thought about not conceding goals, which is why I chose that three-back formation."
