[Player/Coach Comments]
"Hotaka NAKAMURA"
(Looking back on the match)
"It was a match in a situation where there are only two more games until the ACL."
In the previous match, we won a difficult game against Sapporo and today, we approached the important game with the entire team.
It was a match where I once again felt the difficulty of soccer in losing in that way at the end.
Even if you look down, the Sendai match will come in two days.
"We want to win there and get into the ACL."
(Playing against players with individual strength such as Matheus at right back)
"We have faced Nagoya three times this season, including in practice matches, so we know each other's tactics well."
I had personally envisioned how to respond before entering the game.
In the first half, there were some moments where we were confused by the fluid positioning of players Yoshida and Matheus, but from there we gradually used our strengths in defense and weren't really being beaten.
(I think the awareness of connecting the ball was also high)
"The first part of connecting after taking the ball and the part of build-up are also my challenges."
There were still many mistakes, but they were the result of challenging myself, so they are not negative for me. In the second half, I was able to gradually increase the tempo.
I think I can go up one more level if I can make an assist that leads to a goal from a cross ball, which I haven't been able to do yet.
(For the Sendai match)
"We want to switch gears in a good way for today's game and make the best preparations for the next Sendai match."
"Go HATANO Player"
(Looking back on the last PK scene)
"PK is like gambling."
However, whether or not they can stop it there is an important part for the GK.
I am frustrated that I couldn't stop it, but I want to move on to the next one.
(There were outstanding saves in the situation)
"You never know when a pinch will come. Even in situations where the opponent has no chance, there is always a possibility of conceding a goal from a set play or one chance, so we always fought with concentration."
I think we were able to communicate well with the defense.
That's why it's so frustrating to concede in the final PK. I wanted to somehow keep it at zero and bring back the winning points."
(How we prepared for today's game)
"We approached the game with a solid image of how to respond to Nagoya's attack."
"We also had the experience of playing at home last time, and we have been preparing until today by watching the opponent's footage and devising countermeasures."
"Ryoya OGAWA"
(About the battle on the side)
"The player we were facing was not necessarily Jae Suk OH, but when the game opened up like it did today, the number of simple crosses from the side increased. In that situation, I think both me and Jae Suk OH felt the need to put pressure on each other. In the end, we conceded a goal from a penalty kick, and I think it was due to our own lack of decisiveness in the crucial moments."
(On the left side, Maeda and Matheus players were flowing, but it was a solid impression that they were responding well)
"There are a lot of good dribblers on the other team, so I thought I had to close the distance before they could pick up speed. I think we were able to go aggressively against that."
(There were also scenes where I had to defend in difficult situations on the side, but did you also feel the difficulty?)
"There were times when we had to defend in a numerical disadvantage, but in the second half we were able to make adjustments and respond well. Leandro is also a key player in our attack, so I want to support him more."
(There was a time when I was aiming for a goal while enduring, but in the end we conceded. Looking back at the flow of the game)
"I think it was because of our lack of strength and the fact that we didn't have enough power to push back, and the opponent was clever enough to make passes from behind our defense line. Even in the scene where we conceded, we couldn't get behind the opponent and ended up receiving a counter attack, and in the end we gave away a penalty. I want to continue pursuing our own style of football and fight on."
"Tokyo - Manager Masaru HASEGAWA Press Conference Summary"
"In the first half, Nagoya had the upper hand, but in the second half, I think we had more possession of the ball."
Finally, we were unable to stop the individual strength of Matheus. I think it was a good game even if we didn't win, so it was a very disappointing result."
"Nagoya - Massimo FICCADENTI Manager"
"It was a good game from the first half. We were able to score our chances at the end. It was amazing to be able to stay calm and finish like that. This type of win gives us even more power than a normal win. I think it was a good win for the future. Even though we didn't have our forwards, we were able to play a style that was difficult for the opponent to grasp, and we were patient in passing the ball until the moment they were out of position and then attacking. That was the type of soccer we needed to play today, and the players were able to express that from the beginning. I think it was tough for Tokyo."
In the first half, we couldn't move the game and in the second half, we were a little tired and couldn't create as many chances as in the first half, but we fought patiently without dropping our defensive level. We went for the win until the last minute. It was a tough situation and we were just rolling with our emotions, but we were able to turn it into a win. I really have to praise the players for that and I think it was a good game where the players themselves grew.
(Predo was able to take the ball well even in the midfield and on the sides, but what was the reason for that?)
"We were able to play tough and the players were not only mentally but also consciously entering every game. The positioning on the pitch was also good. We were able to take the right positions and our distance from each other was good. We were able to defend in a way that made it difficult for the opponent to keep possession. Even when we were taken out, there were good voices coming from the defensive line."
