[Player/Coach Comments]
"Leandro"
"This year was a truly tight schedule and a tough season. Despite the postponements, we were able to win the championship and I think we were able to end it on a really good note."
(The dribble course for the opening goal was amazing)
"Ogawa won the header and the ball came to me free. From there, I started dribbling and was able to lure the sliding of the opponent's Hisharjison player. I was able to pass the second DF with good timing and take it all the way to the final shot."
The shooting part, there was a time when I didn't shoot to the opposite side in other games. At the moment of shooting, that came to my mind and I decided to shoot to the direction of progress, and as a result, it went in.
(4 years since coming to Japan. This is my first season in Tokyo, but I feel like I've grown a lot)
"It was the best year out of the 4. I won the ACL with Kashima, but I only played in 2 games and got injured and had surgery."
Today, we fought until the end and won the title.
"I really think it was a great season."
"Masato MORISHIGE"
"This season, amidst a series of consecutive games, young players have been given opportunities, and there have been times when results have been achieved, as well as times when they have not."
J League, they have experienced the ACL, and I think they have had a particularly big experience in the ACL.
We, the veteran players, also had a great experience and felt many things during the tournament.
"Based on that, I felt that what we have built up so far came out in today's final round."
(The honest feeling of winning)
"I am truly happy, there are no words to describe it."
No more words can be found.
This season, I think it was tough for fans and supporters to watch games like they used to.
"I am really happy to be able to present the title to those fans and supporters today."
(I think I spent a long time in a period when I couldn't win, but what I feel now is)
"Today, I was honestly happy to finally be able to win after the game ended."
I am relieved now because I approached the final round with a strong desire to win and not lose.
There are only these two feelings right now.
"Keigo Higashi"
(Manager Hasegawa said that there is something that can only be obtained by winning the championship, but now, once again, my feelings are)
"At the moment the game ended, my emotions really came out. Now, seeing all the messages from various acquaintances, I am truly realizing that we have won the championship."
The 2019 season ended in second place in the league, and it was a disappointing end. However, I am truly happy that we were able to end the year with a win. This is like a new start for Tokyo, and winning the championship once again brings back the desire to win. The moment of winning the championship is unforgettable. I already want to win another title as soon as possible."
(Including the fact that I was able to participate due to injuries and the postponement of the Levain Cup final, it was a deeply emotional victory. My honest thoughts)
"Initially, it was a difficult situation to participate in the Levain Cup final due to injuries, but with the schedule change, I was able to stand on this stage. If we didn't win, I thought I would be told that "the captain doesn't have it."
I am truly happy to be able to become a champion here with the help of everyone's efforts. Even though I couldn't speak, I am really grateful for the support of many fans and supporters.
(Have you ever felt anything when you were injured?)
"I realized that I could stand on the pitch with the support of many people such as doctors and medical staff when I had surgery."
This is a part that I feel I won't notice unless I get injured.
We are fighting on the main stage, but we also want to thank the staff behind the scenes who support us with all their heart, like Mr. Yamakawa from Hopeiro and many others.
(The impression of fans and supporters at the new Japan National Stadium)
"I felt it even during yesterday's pre-match practice, but I truly thought that the new Japan National Stadium is an amazing stadium. So to be able to stand on the stage of the Levain Cup final there was truly a happy moment, and winning made me even happier."
"I am truly grateful for the many fans and supporters who have come and cheered us on, even though it may not be a stress-relieving experience. Thank you for your applause and cheers."
"Tokyo - Manager Masaru HASEGAWA Press Conference Summary"
"In this situation, I would like to express my gratitude to all the fans and supporters who came to support us, as well as those who supported us outside the stadium."
The players gave their best for 90 minutes to respond to the feelings of such fans and supporters.
I think I was able to repay even a little bit.
This title is the first step. We want to continue fighting for more titles next season."
(This was the first title since taking office in Tokyo, but what kind of conversation did you have in the locker room at the end?)
"First of all, I think that if we don't win the title, the title won't come to us."
I believe that by winning once, it will bring me closer to other titles, so first of all, I wanted to win one of the three major titles.
As a player, my first title with G Osaka was also the Levain Cup, so winning my first title in Tokyo in this tournament also feels like fate.
The players were all smiling happily after winning.
Some players will leave the team this season, and it's truly a blessing to have been able to work with everyone. I believe it's because of the wonderful encounters we had that we were able to win this amazing title.
"We will continue to cherish wonderful connections and encounters, and each of us will wish for good fortune as players and as a team," he concluded.
(Tokyo was progressing at their own pace from the first half, but their aim was spot on)
"Everyone covered each other and showed the team's strengths while also taking care of the opponent's strong points. I think they all did their job for the team's victory, including the substitute players."
(Regarding the use of player Robert as an anchor)
"After converting in the ACL, the team was able to play with stability in both offense and defense."
It was also a big experience for the team to actually use it in the league games since returning to Japan.
In the final match of the league, we were able to start Adailton on the left side, so we were able to effectively use the league match after the ACL for today's game.
(Changes in the team after taking office)
"I have always talked about how frustration can make a team stronger, and at the end of last season, we were overtaken by Yokohama FM and they won the championship right in front of us. It was a frustrating experience for us. Starting this season with that frustration, it was a special season with COVID, but we were able to play soccer with the help of everyone coming together and various people's support."
And I am grateful for that, and I think it was a big thing to be able to win the title by clearing that frustration.
"Kashiwa NELSINHO Coach Press Conference Summary"
"I think it was a very tough game."
The first half saw a lot of fouls and it wasn't a game with many goals, partly due to it being the final round.
In the first half, we were able to regain our pace and score a goal just before the end after being scored on first, and went into halftime tied.
During halftime, we tried to put more pressure on the defense. As for the offense, we tried to firmly hold onto the ball after entering the opponent's territory.
We were unfortunately scored against in the second half, but that period of time was a good balance for us in both offense and defense.
However, the opponent had very fast players lined up in the front, and they also had skilled and talented players, so we were caught off guard and ended up losing 1-2.
The opponent was able to achieve a very stable game flow by taking the second point.
We were hoping to bring it to a tie and take it to overtime, but in the end, we ended up with this result.
