[Player and Coach Comments]
Yuto NAGATOMO
(Thoughts on playing in the J-League for the first time in 11 years)
"It was fun."
It's been 11 years since I played in the J-League. While playing in Japan is one thing, I am just so happy and thrilled to wear the blue and red uniform in Tokyo and play at home.
(What kind of preparations have been made this week)
"At first, I was on a different program for conditioning, but for the last three days before the match, I was able to join the whole team.
It's not just about me fitting into the team, but also about conveying to everyone the importance of raising our intensity for victory as we enter practice.
(The matchup with MAGUINHO was impressive)
"During the scouting phase, I thought MAGUINHO had speed and was a very good player.
However, I am the type who gets more fired up the better the opponent is, so I approached today with the mindset of winning every match.
(The Origin)
"Returning here is also to remember the origin, and wearing number 50 combines the meaning of returning to the origin with number 5 and number 0."
"Once again, I entered the pitch with ambition and passion to show that I won't lose in one-on-one defense like Nagatomo."
(During the match, many voices could be heard, but what words were being said)
"During the match, a considerable number of words were exchanged, so I can't specify just one, but I communicated details about tactics, second balls, line-ups, keeping the team compact, and pressing from the front, among other things."
However, the number one was encouraging everyone to raise their motivation.
In the last match, I felt that there was a lack of confidence and energy from the stands. So, I was consciously encouraging everyone to be positive and to raise their motivation.
(Awareness of Back Pass)
"Due to the rain, the pitch condition was poor, so rather than feeling pressure from back passes, everyone was conscious of moving forward, and I was also calling for us to push even further forward."
(How was Ajinomoto after 11 years?)
"It was thrilling after 11 years. And it felt good.
I felt the memories of that time and the ambitious feelings at Kodaira Ground, but I felt them even more strongly at Ajinomoto.
I played with the feeling that I didn't want to lose to my younger self back then.
(I think my family was also happy)
"They were happy that I came to Japan, and I'm glad to bring victory."
《Diego OLIVEIRA》
(Reflecting on the wonderful first goal)
"The ball was played through by player Ogawa, and I was able to hold it well and strike with my left foot to score."
(At the moment I kicked it, I was convinced it would go in)
"When a goal is scored, you can tell by the feeling at the moment of the kick, and today I had a very good image the moment I struck it.
Especially today, the pitch was wet due to the rain, so I was able to take a shot exactly as I imagined it on a good course.
(After the trap, I took a shot without a bounce, but was it as intended?)
"The pass to me was slightly off, so I tried to trap it with my right foot, but the ball floated a bit. However, the moment it floated, I decided to take the shot."
(The second goal was scored with a header from a cross by Higashi)
"Before the cross came in, I was at the far side, but when Higashi cut back inside, I decided to dive in at the near post. The ball came exactly as I wanted, and I was very happy to score."
(The content was completely different from the match against Kashiwa last time, but the best part of the team today was)
"I absolutely hate losing, and after losing to Kashiwa, I felt really frustrated.
In the match against Kashiwa, we conceded a goal in the first half and were unable to equalize.
On the contrary, today we were able to take the lead early and score additional points, leading to an ideal match development.
(Nagatomo has returned to Tokyo, but what kind of player is he?)
"I don't need to say much, but he is a player who has been active in Europe for a long time and is currently a member of the Japan national team, possessing excellent technical skills."
He is a very leadership-oriented player who leads the team and always encourages others.
We were able to approach the match with everyone's feelings involved. I believe that new and wonderful strength has joined us.
(Will the number of goals increase further in the future?)
"His assists are one thing, but he is also contributing greatly to the team in other ways. Of course, I hope he continues to provide many assists as well."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
"I have nothing to say today."
I think the players concentrated and played for 90 minutes in a match that felt intense, so I really have nothing more to say.
(The reason we were able to have a match like this)
"Of course, I believe it is the presence of Yuto NAGATOMO.
A player who leads the team with their spirit and was able to focus intensely during training.
In that sense, if we can fight firmly today, I feel that it is possible for the match to develop like this, as I felt during this week's training.
I think Yuto was at the center of it.
"One passionate player joins, and it spreads throughout the entire team; it's a mysterious thing to feel."
(There was a series of away games, and it was about three months since the last victory at Ajinomoto)
"I think we need to continue playing matches like this so that the fans and supporters will fight alongside us. We will play intense games that draw in the fans and supporters. It wasn't a high-pressure start, but gradually our mentality surpassed the opponent's, leading to goals."
It's not just about playing football with feelings; of course, it's important to properly establish tactics, but I believe that the passionate spirit at the core is what this team has been lacking the most this season.
In matches where the stakes are high, like the Levain Cup, we play wonderfully, but in other matches, there have been ups and downs, and we haven't been able to consistently perform at our best. However, with Nagatomo's presence, the entire team switched on. I believe he acted as a trigger that really boosted our momentum.
I want to prepare for each match so that I can fight solidly in the remaining 9 league matches based on this feeling and attitude from this game.
(What kind of growth do you expect from the team with Nagatomo's addition?)
"Once again, I think the players have understood that the aspect of 'passion' is important.
We have to motivate ourselves and fight. Of course, there hasn't been a match where we didn't fight, but we didn't have players who could bounce back when we were at a disadvantage, so I think it's significant that a player with a bright personality, like the sun, has joined us.
《Yokohama FC - Summary of the Press Conference with Coach Tomonobu HAYAKAWA》
I think we have to accept the reality of a 0-4 defeat. We were outperformed by our opponents in every aspect.
We have 9 matches left, and I believe we just need to do what we can do.
(The first half, which ended 0-3, seemed to show too much respect for Tokyo)
"That is not the case at all. In the first half, we couldn't apply pressure defensively, which caused us to lean back a bit. It may have seemed like we recovered in the second half, but I think Tokyo just eased off their pace."
(It seemed to improve after changing the system in the second half, but that evaluation is)
"By bringing in power with the substitutions of Saulo MINEIRO and FELIPE VIZEU, I think we were able to show some power by not losing to the opponent in front of us and fighting firmly."
However, in reality, we were ultimately unable to break through a solid block. We continued to be in a state where we could not enter the penalty area. I think it became difficult because Tokyo was playing as a skilled team while lowering their gear.
