[Player and Coach Comments]
《Kyosuke TAGAWA Player》
(It was a wonderful goal. Reflecting on the scoring scene)
"Everyone started the match well, and I think there was a strong attitude to move forward continuously.
I believed that Morishige would definitely deliver the pass, so I made my run. It was truly a wonderful pass, and I was able to bring my first touch down in a good spot, so I was glad to score the goal.
(Calmly decided while watching the GK at the moment of the shot)
"I thought that was my challenge, so I believe the results of my daily practice have come through."
(The opponent I faced was Hiroki SAKAI)
"He was a player with speed and high physical ability, but I think it was good that I was able to get behind him and score a goal."
It was a frustrating match, but how do you reflect on the entire game?
"If we could have been a bit more creative in defense, I think we could have been an even greater threat to the opponent."
I think there were parts where we allowed the opponent a bit too much freedom, so I want to correct that as a challenge for the next match.
However, I think we were not losing at all in terms of our fighting spirit and attitude, and I want to continue to maintain that.
(I think the perseverance we showed at the end will lead to something next)
"The players also feel a sense of achievement in certain areas, and I believe that if we can continue to trust in that, results will come. I want to keep believing in my teammates without wavering."
(The next match is the Tamagawa Classico. It will be a battle against the league leaders Kawasaki Frontale. My determination is)
"Of course, I want to continue what we are doing now, and my role is to perform well in the final moments. I want to prepare well so that I can score goals and help the team."
《Ryoma WATANABE》
(It was my first start in a while, but I was thinking about what kind of play to show)
"First of all, I was focused on scoring goals while playing.
There were several chances to take shots, but we need to convert those opportunities. I think there are various factors involved, so I want to continue thinking about what is necessary to score.
(During the match, I was running around with a lot of energy on both offense and defense)
"I was told to closely follow the wide players from Urawa, so I was trying to keep that in mind while also being aware to move forward during opportunities, but I think it didn't go as well as I hoped."
(How did you view your classmate, player Koizumi)
"I want to do my best so that we don't lose, as he was playing a central role in Urawa's tactics."
(In terms of defense, it seemed that we were able to press from the start, but at some point, we couldn't apply pressure as effectively)
"I wanted to apply pressure a bit more from the front, but I felt that I couldn't do that."
(Was it unclear how to take it away?)
"I thought I understood what I should have done, but I knew it would be difficult to tackle it alone. I wonder if there were more ways to do it as a team."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
The players really ran well in a tight schedule. I truly believe they fought very well.
Since we were able to score the first goal, I think we could have achieved better results if we had managed the system and player substitutions well.
In that sense, the reason we lost today lies with myself. The players are not at fault at all.
Even after conceding two goals, they showed a strong attitude towards the Urawa goal and fought hard until the end in terms of spirit.
If I had to say, if we could have fought against Urawa in a fresh situation, it might have led to a different outcome.
If we advance in the Levain Cup, there is a possibility to fight again, but for now, I want to focus on the next match against Kawasaki and do my best.
I think we were able to overwhelm the opponent in the first half, but the tactics themselves were not effective.
"Everyone fought while adhering to discipline.
I felt that the opponent's equalizing goal in the first half was particularly regrettable because it happened at that time.
It was a physically tough situation towards the end of the first half, but we were able to push back quite a bit during the water break. It was a regrettable goal conceded. I believe that, including that, reflects our current strength, so we must continue to improve.
(Could the goals conceded have been prevented, including bench work?)
"I knew that it would be physically tough due to the consecutive matches, so I wanted to manage the bench work well and lead to victory."
While considering system changes, I wanted to stick with the current setup if possible, but it was a goal conceded amidst visible fatigue from the defensive midfield players, so I felt it might have been physically tough. I hope to manage player rotations effectively in that regard.
(It was expected that Urawa would have the ball for a long time)
"I think that if there is no pressure from the front line, this kind of development will happen. We started well, but gradually fell behind Urawa's tactics. Also, after winning the ball, we struggled to connect our plays."
Today, there was no player who could be a starting point. I think if we could connect the ball a little more after winning it back, the outcome would have been different.
I believe that was the reason why Urawa had the ball today.
If we could have created a bit more of our own time, the overall impression of the match would have been different. Especially in the first half, and in the latter part of the second half, we lost some momentum. I think that was the key point.
《Urawa - Ricardo RODRIGUEZ Coach Press Conference Summary》
It was a very difficult match.
It was a situation where we conceded the first goal, but I think the team reacted well afterwards.
Although we conceded the first goal, we were able to control the match and create chances. Being able to equalize in the first half brought momentum to the team. There were tough moments before we took the lead, but the team fought together. It wasn't an easy match, but we fought until the end and were able to secure 3 points.
(How did you feel about the team's atmosphere after conceding a goal right after the start?)
I think the atmosphere was good.
There were shocking moments, but the players were able to stand up and play. There was pressure from the opponent's front line, but we were able to create good chances and get close to the goal, and the equalizing goal brought even more momentum. I think we were able to play without losing confidence, and since such comeback victories have been rare, I believe this will lead to confidence in the future.
(It was difficult to break through after conceding the first goal, but the fact that we were able to attack without getting impatient is a sign of the team's progress)
"We were able to play while being patient.
I think we were able to play using various options that we have built up to this point against such a tough opponent.
