[Player/Coach Comments]
"Rio OMORI"
(Had experience playing in the cup tournament, but it was my J1 debut. How did you feel when the coach called you?)
"In a situation where we were one player down and the team was struggling, I thought about what I could do and decided to go for a goal without conceding. It was in line with what the team intended, so I wasn't confused."
"In the end, we conceded multiple goals and were unable to score, so it ended in the worst possible scenario and I feel like we couldn't do anything."
(Part where I felt the difference with Yokohama FM)
"When I played, we were one player short, but the quality of the opponent and their attitude of constantly pushing forward never wavered until the end."
I felt that the team's strength lies in being able to maintain quality for 90 minutes.
(Entered the position of Pim, who is the target, but how to make use of today's experience)
"I am very sorry for the result that ended with fighting on the pitch. I have to become a player that others look up to, and I must never repeat this kind of game. No matter what the situation, I have to do my own play and play for the team to win. I want to continue fighting without giving up and keep the same attitude."
(After the match, I collapsed in a big letter, but what kind of feeling was it?)
"I felt extremely frustrated."
However, as a professional, I regret that behavior and I think the players who played the full game were even more frustrated.
I should have controlled my emotions because this is the score after giving my all in the game. As I was playing with the Tokyo emblem on my back, I should not have played like this. I felt regret and frustration for my lack of ability.
(Considering the fact that it was a score that will never happen again, how can we use it in the future?)
"I think I have to be a player who can lead Tokyo, so how can I make the team move forward? When things are going well, I think we can naturally elevate each other, but when things are going badly, someone has to change the flow of the team. I want to become a player who can do that."
I will never forget this game and I think I have to make use of this experience when I am struggling.
"Keigo Higashi"
(1 match 8 goals conceded was the worst record for the club)
"I am truly sorry to the fans and supporters, as well as everyone involved with Tokyo. I cannot find the words to express my disappointment."
(There were also changes in the formation, and in the second half, I played as a libero. I was thinking about what I could do for the team, and I wanted to try and score as many points as possible in the second half. Although playing as a libero was unfamiliar to me, I wanted to contribute in any way I could.)
"I was thinking about what I could do for the team, and I wanted to try and score as many points as possible in the second half. Although playing as a libero was unfamiliar to me, I wanted to contribute in any way I could."
Unfortunately, we continued to concede goals in the second half and I feel sorry for not being able to meet the expectations of the coach. We need to accept this result and use it to our advantage in the next game.
(It seemed to be the first goal that led to a large number of goals, but)
"I haven't watched the footage yet, so I can't explain it fully, but I don't think our start was bad at all."
Yokohama FM has always placed players with height in the front line, but this time they have placed players with speed. They understood that the opponent was aiming for the space behind Tokyo.
The first goal is important in any game, and losing a player from there disrupted our plan. We had to at least minimize the number of goals we conceded. It's a disappointing feeling as a professional."
(Where do you feel the cause of this result lies?)
"It's difficult, but there is not just one cause. To recover from this frustrating game, I think it's a matter of each individual's mindset, so we have to turn this into a positive."
There are only 3 games left in the league, but we have to show our determination. We can't end like this, so we need to watch the footage carefully, analyze it, and move on to the next game.
(Looking ahead)
"We have no choice but to switch our mindset and move forward. We have to turn things around after being pushed this far. We will prepare well for the next game and make sure to deliver a match that meets everyone's expectations."
"Tokyo - Manager Masaru HASEGAWA Press Conference Summary"
"Feeling pathetic beyond frustration."
The players did well, and I am grateful to the fans and supporters for continuing to support us until the end. This is also due to our lack of strength, which is truly frustrating. I want to gather my strength and do my best so that I can return this frustration somewhere else.
(What kind of encouragement did you give to the players after this result?)
"I conveyed the same message. I thought it wouldn't be strange if the fans and supporters stopped cheering in the middle, but they continued to support us until the end. I told the players about this fact. I also talked about how we have to fight while carrying the feelings of the fans and supporters."
(Two years ago, we were outclassed by our opponents in the championship race.)
"This season, we reflect on the fact that we were unable to fight as an organization and as a team in terms of details. We had enough players, but we couldn't clear the ball and ended up conceding goals. Maybe the 8-point difference wouldn't have existed, but the team we competed against for the championship is now in second place, while we have sunk to the middle of the table. I think the difference in details adds up and leads to a difference in rankings, so if we don't do that again, the gap with the top teams will only widen."
(Intention of changing to LORI from the second half)
"I think Oomori was nervous because it was his first J1 appearance while being one player short. In order to calm down and play as smoothly as possible, I wanted to have LORI close by and let him play calmly."
In addition, with the new members, it was a difficult situation to fight with both sides in a high position, so we placed Higashi in the center and positioned Nagatomo and Watanabe (Ryoma) a little higher. We thought about taking advantage of one chance. We made the midfield into three pieces so that we could support the sides and forwards. I think there were some moments where the players were confused, but they kept going until the end without giving up.
(The reason for this result)
"We knew that the opponent's FW had speed, and if we had been able to handle it better with the DF line, we could have prevented the opponent's opening goal. Especially the third goal was due to mistakes. By repeating such goals, I feel that the young players got a little carried away. We need to be more solid at the back and have all players show a fighting attitude on the front line, otherwise we will end up with this result."
"It turned out to be the worst scenario I had expected, so I think this is due to my lack of foresight."
