A greeting from Coach Shinichi MORISHITA to all fans and supporters
[Player and Coach Comments]
《Takuya AOKI》
(The play that shone through appearing in various places)
"Since we were receiving counters from the first half, I felt I wanted to take care of it early, so I positioned myself like that from the first half."
(How did you think about the balance between offense and defense)
"Without thinking too much, if the defense is struggling, I go to support, and if I'm free, I try to position myself a little forward and focus on getting into an uncomfortable position for the opponent."
(There were many scenes where players appeared in front of the goal in these two matches)
"I haven't been specifically told anything by the coach, but I think I was able to take the appropriate position while checking the balance as the players in front of me changed and I was able to place my center of gravity a little forward."
(What was shown in the last three matches fought with a change of coach)
"It was a difficult timing, but we were able to confirm our shortcomings and endure that time well. I believe we were able to express what we couldn't do in the first match in the last two matches."
Tsubasa TERAYAMA
I am honestly happy to have made my debut. I am grateful to Coach Morishita for giving me the opportunity.
I have been conscious of expressing what I have done so far and what I am building up in university on the pitch.
(Thoughts when called by Coach Morishita on the bench)
"Since middle school, I have worn the Tokyo emblem and have watched many matches at Ajinomoto Stadium.
It was a stage that I aimed for, so I was honestly happy when my name was called.
(There were also accidents after being introduced, and I played in many positions)
"Soccer is a sport that changes with the situation, so you have to change your play according to that situation. In that sense, I think I was able to play calmly and observe my surroundings."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Shinichi MORISHITA》
"In the first half, we couldn't create good opportunities, but in the second half, I think we were able to create good moments when the opponent slowed down. I wanted to score a goal there, but we lacked the intensity in front of the goal."
(Despite the long time spent being pressured, I felt a sense of achievement in defense)
"In the match against Tokushima, we were a bit flustered due to Morishige's absence, but I think we did really well in terms of defensive stability today.
While effectively containing the opponent's two forwards, in the second half, Tsuyoshi WATANABE also put in a lot of effort and improved over time. I think he worked hard on pressing back, tightening the center, and keeping the whole team compact and sliding together.
(I think it can be seen that we were able to endure the first half)
"In the match against Tokushima, we struggled to move the ball forward after winning it, and that was also observed in this match.
However, unlike the match against Tokushima, we were able to effectively repel the opponent's attacks. We were able to defend well in front of the goal, and I believed that if we could avoid conceding any goals in the first half, it would be our time in the second half. I thought the first half would be a test of patience.
(Regarding the ability to make adjustments in the second half)
"Fukuoka is a team that comes at you strongly from the first half, and I thought the pressure from their front line would be tough.
However, I thought that as time went on, it would stretch out, and that would be the decisive moment. In that sense, we still didn't have the ability to break through at the right time, and it was disappointing that we couldn't incorporate that into our training.
《Fukuoka - Summary of Coach Shigeyoshi Hasebe's Press Conference》
"As you can see, it was a draw, but I think we were able to show what we can do reasonably well."
I believe we could have won if we had been able to score during that time.
However, when it comes to the final way of closing, we executed what we have been working on for a year, which is to thoroughly accumulate points.
I believe it was very good that we were able to play our own way and ultimately secured 8th place without being overturned in the rankings.
(Finishing the season in 8th place, the highest ranking for Fukuoka in J1 history)
"I believe it is very gratifying to have surpassed the achievements of those who came before us and to have set a new record, and I hope everyone will share in this joy."
I think that when you go up one step and ascend the stage, there will be a momentum to rise even further. I believe I was able to contribute in that regard.
(Sec. 32 - Since the defeat against Kobe, we have remained unbeaten with 1 win and 5 draws, finishing the season with a resilient fight)
"Regarding today, we were able to draw away against Tokyo.
Also, while there have been many draws against other teams lately, I think it's positive that we were able to accumulate points.
Also, it was not a draw where we couldn't take a single shot despite our persistence; we had more shots and chances.
It was a draw in such circumstances, so while leaving the challenge of scoring, I think I was able to showcase my individual strengths.
(Despite being an away game, many supporters came to the goal area)
"I am truly grateful."
I believe the players ran more than they did in Tokyo thanks to your support.
I believe you came to enjoy another goal from Jogo, but in my effort to secure 1 point and maintain 8th place, I chose to use time instead of taking shots when the opportunity arose. However, I think that was also a play characteristic of Avispa Fukuoka.
If we had gone for a shot there and conceded a goal on the counter, there was a possibility that our ranking could have flipped.
He made his own judgment and chose to play. I think it was a significant contribution to the team, and I believe it was a very good play.
