U-15 Fukagawa France Expedition Day 6

6th Day of the France Expedition

On the third day of the tournament, today we dedicated the morning to refresh time before the matches in the afternoon.
I took a good rest and prepared for the afternoon match.

The first match is the second game of the top league, against Marseille.
Since Monaco and Marseille drew in the previous match, a victory will secure advancement to the Final Round.

Before the match, Coach Miyazawa told the players, "This is a match we must win to advance. This match is the same as the tournament. Just like yesterday, let's fight together with a sense of unity."

The players showed passionate play from the start. Intense battles for the ball, quick transitions, and hard work embodied Tokyo's motto. The first half ended with a score of 0-0.

As the intense play continued in the second half, Tokyo gradually took control and began to create good opportunities.
However, in the midst of that, they failed to clear the attack in the 29th minute, allowing the loose ball to be picked up and resulting in a goal conceded.
However, they did not give up and continued to play, and in the 34th minute, Watanabe dribbled and took a shot. It hit Miyakawa, who was in position, but Miyakawa calmly assessed the opposing goalkeeper and scored to equalize.

Riding the momentum, they continued to attack in the remaining time, but the opponent skillfully managed the time, and the match ended with a time-up.
It was a frustrating draw.
There were chances to win, but on the other hand, in terms of commitment to the competition, the opponent was a step ahead, and I felt the gap with the world.

After the match, Coach Miyazawa told the players, "We fought well and fairly. We managed to catch up. However, the result is a draw. The opponent did everything to waste time, but this is football in the world."

Based on the results of the first match, we will advance to the ranking tournament for positions 9 to 12, and the 1st Round will be a match against Gangan.
We fought with a focus on members with limited playing time, but the shock of losing the first match and not being able to advance to the Final Round, along with the short breaks between matches, led to conceding 4 goals in the first half without being able to fully engage in the game.

At halftime, we received a pep talk from Coach Miyazawa and headed into the second half.
In the second half, we regained our composure, challenged the opponent physically, fought with determination, and in the 27th minute, we earned a penalty kick from Brian's breakthrough, which Okada calmly converted into a goal.
The defense was focused and kept a clean sheet, and although we won the second half 1-0, the total result was a loss of 1-4.

During dinner, players interacted with players from other teams, and they actively approached each other without hesitation, feeling a sense of strength and growth.

It was a day where I felt the intensity of the top league and the challenges of playing abroad. At the same time, I realized what can and cannot be done at that level, as well as the aspects that connect and those that do not, making it a valuable experience. Tomorrow will be the final match. I want to fight until the end, gain good experiences, and strive to achieve a positive result.
