Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is currently requesting residents to refrain from non-essential outings.
The impact of the spread of this new coronavirus has faced unprecedented difficulties experienced by everyone worldwide, and soccer is no exception. We have been forced to postpone or cancel activities in all aspects, including "playing," "watching," and "supporting." Like our fans and supporters, we feel very regretful and disappointed that matches cannot be held.
Above all, what is most important right now is to protect the health and safety of all those who support the club, including fans and supporters, shareholders, club sponsors, players, club staff, and their families. Each individual must maintain a high level of awareness, and as a club, we sincerely want to work on what should be prioritized to curb the spread of infection.
The club has been monitoring the situation while conducting training and other activities, but we have decided to suspend the activities of the top team for the time being. Additionally, the activities of the academy (U-18, U-15 Fukagawa, U-15 Musashi) will also be suspended.
We hope that everyone will prioritize "actions to protect life" and work together to stop the spread of infection. There are those who feel frustrated and down because they want "the everyday life with soccer to return" and "to support their beloved team." But now is the time to endure various challenges as we move towards resolution. Let's overcome this difficult situation together to defeat the "invisible enemy" of the novel coronavirus. We are not alone; we can definitely do this.
The club will continue to make every effort in collaboration with the J League and relevant organizations towards the resumption of official matches. We look forward to the situation ending as soon as possible, restoring an environment where everyone can watch football, and meeting you with smiles.
