【Comment from "Teikyo University"】
Teikyo University was established in Hachioji, Tokyo in 1966. Initially, it started with two faculties and three departments: the Department of Japanese Literature, the Department of English Literature, and the Department of Economics, with a total of 200 students. As the times changed, the university has expanded its potential as a place of learning. Its educational philosophy is to promote individuality and cultivate responsible individuals who can utilize their innate talents to the fullest by acquiring knowledge and skills. Its educational guidelines include "practical learning," "internationalism," and "openness." In June 2016, the university celebrated its 50th anniversary, and its alumni, who are active in various fields, have reached 150,000. Currently, the university has five campuses in Itabashi, Hachioji, Utsunomiya, Fukuoka, and Kasumigaseki, and has grown into a comprehensive university with 10 faculties, 32 departments, and 11 graduate schools, with approximately 23,000 students. In 2012, the Itabashi Campus was renovated, the Fukuoka New Campus was established in 2014, and the new school building at the Hachioji Campus was completed in 2018, ensuring the development of a new era.
