[7/13 Update]
We have implemented a lesson using the "Blue and Red Drill " created at Wakamatsu Elementary School in Fuchu City, so we have added a report on the implementation.
We have implemented a lesson using the "Blue and Red Drill" created as one of our efforts to create opportunities for children to enjoy sports and increase the number of children who find sports enjoyable at Wakamatsu Elementary School in Fuchu City.
On the day, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we took thorough measures to prevent infection, such as disinfection, staff wearing masks, and adjusting the program to avoid physical contact in accordance with the pandemic. We ensured the safety of the children and carried out the event.
Children challenge various movements with drills in one hand, referring to the examples and advice of Ishikawa CC and development coaches.
Even if it didn't go well, I kept challenging myself over and over again without giving up!!
At the end of the class, a message was sent to the children from Ishikawa CC, saying, "Use this drill at home or during break time and challenge yourself with various movements with your friends and family."
Please, challenge this drill a lot and I hope many children will feel "having fun moving their bodies".
FC Tokyo will continue to work on promoting soccer and sports through the use of drills in classes.
Thank you, everyone at Wakamatsu Elementary School in Fuchu City.
FC Tokyo has created the "Aoaka Drill (Exercise Drill)" with a focus on improving children's "physical strength" and "opportunities to become familiar with sports".
At FC Tokyo, we want children to feel the joy of playing soccer and sports with their friends, so in addition to soccer classes and schools in the community, we have also been working with schools to have coaches visit and participate in activities with children as part of our "Caravan Team." We have also collaborated with the Board of Education to provide teacher training and have players visit elementary schools as part of our efforts to promote and engage in various soccer and sports activities.
In such efforts, we have been considering "improving children's physical strength", "reducing the number of children who dislike or are not good at sports", and "what kind of efforts can be made to nurture children's hearts and bodies through sports and physical education classes".
Therefore, in this project, we have created a "physical exercise drill" called "Aoaka Drill" with the aim of increasing opportunities for children to enjoy sports and physical activities in their physical education classes and daily lives, and acquiring basic abilities to enjoy lifelong health and sports through various physical experiences in their early childhood.
The creation of drills was made by the club last year (2020) during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide children with the fun and opportunity to move their bodies indoors. We have also worked with the local board of education to create drills that can be used in the "playful movement" section of the curriculum while considering various movements.
The purpose of this is to have children experience various movements that will serve as the foundation for learning during the so-called "golden age" of upper elementary school, and to make it fun for them to do so. It is designed to be conscious of connecting to "games" and "ball sports" in upper elementary and middle school by utilizing "balls" and devising ways for children to work on their own during this period.
The created drills will be distributed free of charge to first grade students (approximately 10,400 people) at six public elementary schools in Tokyo, and will be used as supplementary teaching materials to support their lessons.
Distribution will be gradually carried out to each school starting from early July.
In addition, we will work with elementary schools and boards of education that are currently using "Aoaka Drill" to have FC Tokyo's Promotion Department coaches visit schools and implement lessons using the drill, in order to enhance physical education and sports opportunities for children.
