On Nov 9 (Tue), 16 (Tue), and 17 (Wed) in 2021, the FC Tokyo Players Association conducted visits to elementary schools.
This visit, the 14th as part of the FC Tokyo players' school visits, was conducted online again this year due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although it was through a screen, we enjoyed interacting with the children in our hometown.
□Comment from Takuya UCHIDA (FC Tokyo Players' Association Chairman)
“With the desire of all players to be even a little positive influence and give power to the elementary school students in our hometown who always support us, we conducted school visits again this year. Since it was online, I was worried whether we could properly convey what we wanted to say, but I was relieved that we were able to have a much better conversation than expected. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot actually go to schools and interact with the students, but I believe there are things we can convey just by talking, so I am truly glad that we were able to carry this out with the cooperation of everyone around us. By talking with the local elementary school students, we also felt that we need to work harder than ever before, and I was reminded that we must show the image of a “professional soccer player who is an admired figure,” just as we imagined when we were elementary school students.”
