□Tsuyoshi WATANABE Player Comment
"I have decided to transfer to KV Kortrijk in Belgium."
We apologize for not being able to greet you in front of our fans and supporters, and for having to make this announcement here.
When it was decided that I could come back to FC Tokyo after graduating from university, I had a strong desire to contribute to winning the league and to make more people aware of this wonderful team called FC Tokyo.
We have been fighting for the goal of winning the league for 3 years, but we were unable to achieve that goal. I am truly disappointed and feel sorry for all the fans and supporters who have been cheering for us.
However, personally, I was able to play in matches from the second half of my first year as a professional, and I had many wonderful experiences such as finishing second in the J-League, participating in the ACL, and winning the Levain Cup. The atmosphere and sense of accomplishment when we won the Levain Cup is an unforgettable experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
And although it was only a short three years, playing alongside Morishige-san was a great asset for me, and I will continue to grow in Belgium in order to one day surpass the amazing player that is Masato MORISHIGE!!
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all the FC Tokyo fans and supporters for their cheers and applause, which have always been a source of strength for me. Without all of you, I would not have been able to come this far.
I owe everything I am now to FC Tokyo.
Thank you very much for your warm support over the past 3 years. We look forward to your continued support.
