At FC Tokyo, several players and staff members of the top team have received positive diagnoses for COVID-19, and under the guidance of the local health department, team activities have been suspended for 7 days from February 20 (Sun) to February 26 (Sat) to prevent the spread of infection.
The home games scheduled for February 23rd and 26th have been cancelled, causing a situation that affects Júbilo Iwata and Nagoya Grampus. We apologize for the great concern and inconvenience this has caused to everyone who supports and has supported us.
In light of resuming activities, we have established strict measures for all club activities, including training, matches, and travel, to prevent infection. In addition, we have been conducting regular PCR and antigen tests for players and staff.
We have resumed our activities today, and on February 25th, we conducted PCR tests and further conducted antigen tests before practice to resume activities with players and staff who have been confirmed negative.
At the time of resuming activities, there are still players and staff who are in the middle of their recuperation and isolation period. However, we will support their return process under the guidance of the local health department and team doctor, and gradually have them join team activities after undergoing necessary tests and procedures.
FC Tokyo will further strengthen the measures against the new coronavirus infection that we have been working on so far, and we will thoroughly prevent infection throughout the club.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement this season.
