Due to multiple players and staff from FC Tokyo testing positive for COVID-19, team activities were suspended for seven days from February 20 (Sunday) to February 26 (Saturday) under the guidance of the relevant health department to prevent the spread of infection.
The home games scheduled for February 23 and 26 have been canceled, causing great concern and inconvenience to everyone involved with Júbilo Iwata and Nagoya Grampus, as well as to all those who have been supporting us.
As we resume activities, the club will establish and strictly implement infection control policies for all activities, including practice, matches, and travel. We have also been conducting regular PCR and antigen tests for players and staff.
To resume activities today, we conducted a PCR test on February 25, and further performed an antigen test before practice, resuming activities with players and staff who tested negative.
At the time of resuming activities, there are still players and staff who are in the midst of a quarantine period for treatment. However, we will support the return process under the guidance of the health department and the team doctor, and they will join team activities as they undergo the necessary tests and procedures.
FC Tokyo will further strengthen the measures we have implemented so far to combat the novel coronavirus infection and will once again ensure that the entire club is committed to preventing infections.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement this season as well.
