Thank you for your warm support for FC Tokyo.
As announced by the J League on May 17 (Tuesday), in order to further enhance sports viewing with COVID-19 from June onwards, it has been decided to gradually introduce "Cheering Areas/Cheering Seats" where fans can cheer out loud while implementing effective infection control measures at each J League match.
◇The J-League announcement is here
□Definition of Vocal Support
In the audience, to vocalize at a volume greater than usual, repeatedly and continuously
*Temporary cheers during scoring, etc. do not apply
We plan to implement a phased introduction under the following conditions.
・A section of the viewing seats for the target match has been designated as a "cheering area where vocal support is allowed" with a wide seat spacing (※ checkerboard seating with empty spaces in front, back, left, and right) for visitors who purchase seats in the designated area (vocal support seats), and they are allowed to cheer vocally while wearing non-woven masks.
・Cheering with voices is still prohibited for matches that are not subject to voice cheering and in areas that are not included.
・Seating can be arranged as usual in areas other than the "Cheering Area" where vocal support is allowed.
・The cheering area where voices can be raised will temporarily be designated as a "voice cheering area", and eating food and drinking alcohol are prohibited, to be done outside the area (however, hydration with non-alcoholic beverages is allowed).
・In accordance with the government's basic response policy, the number of visitors will be limited to 50% of the stadium's total capacity.
Since the introduction will be determined at the club level, we would like to hear your opinions on the introduction of vocal support in the seat type you have purchased or in another seat type as we consider the pros and cons of a phased introduction.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, our top priority has been to hold matches safely and securely, while limiting cheering styles such as vocal support from the perspective of infection prevention. As research on infection risks progresses both domestically and internationally, we have gradually revised our guidelines. Thanks to the understanding and cooperation of fans, supporters, and all attendees regarding preventive measures, as of 2022, we have reached a situation where we can hold matches without causing cluster infections in the stadium, and we sincerely thank you for that.
As the next step, we aim to create an environment where the recovery of the soccer support culture and the passion and unity through sports can coexist with safe and secure operations, so we appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation.
