On September 10 (Saturday), during the Meiji Yasuda J1 League 2nd Stage Sec. 11 match against Shonan, the goal scored by Hiroki KAWANO has been selected as the "Best Goal of the Month for September 2016". This goal was awarded from a nomination of 9 goals based on general voting by fans and supporters, as well as recommendations from sports and soccer media personnel. This is the first time Hiroki KAWANO has received the Best Goal of the Month award.

I am honestly happy that my goal was chosen as the BEST-STA goal. I would like to thank my teammates, staff, and all the fans and supporters, especially Maeda, who assisted me. In that moment, I was able to take the shot confidently, and I scored with the trajectory I had envisioned. From now on, I want to score as many good goals as possible that contribute to the team's victories.
