□ Personal Comment
"After 20 years as a professional soccer player, I have decided to retire. First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the presidents of Yokohama, Kobe, Tokushima, Tochigi, and FC Tokyo, as well as club officials, team staff, teammates, sponsors, and fans and supporters who have supported me during my 20 years of career."
Since graduating from high school, I have been able to continue my active career for 20 years even though I am not a great player, thanks to the support of many people. Especially, I cannot thank enough my wife and three children who have always been by my side, encouraging me even in the toughest times.
Looking back on the past 20 years, I can only say that I have regrets. However, I have also had some truly wonderful experiences, such as winning the league and being named MVP of the Nabisco Cup. I have no regrets about approaching each day with sincerity and dedicating myself to soccer.
I will start a new start as a coach from next season. I am very happy and honored to be able to start that start at FC Tokyo. As a coach, I want to walk with the people of Tokyo with the spirit of "making daily progress" just like my player life.
Thank you very much for your support so far. And we look forward to your continued support in the future.
