□ Personal Comment
I have decided to retire as a professional soccer player after 20 years. First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the president of FC Tokyo, as well as the club officials, team staff, teammates, sponsors, and all the fans and supporters for the 20 years I spent with Yokohama, Kobe, Tokushima, Tochigi, and FC Tokyo.
Since graduating from high school, I have been able to continue my active career for 20 years, despite not being a remarkable player, thanks to the support of many people. I am especially grateful to my wife and three children, who have always encouraged me by my side, no matter how tough things got.
Looking back on the past 20 years now, I can honestly say that I have mostly regrets. Nevertheless, I have had truly wonderful experiences, such as winning the league championship and being named MVP of the Nabisco Cup. I have no regrets about facing soccer sincerely and dedicating myself to it day by day.
Starting next season, I will take a new step as a coach. I am very happy and honored to begin that journey with FC Tokyo. Just like my playing career, I want to move forward with the spirit of "constant progress" alongside everyone in Tokyo.
Thank you very much for your support so far. We look forward to your continued support.
