U-18 Germany Expedition Day 2.
After arriving late last night, I woke up at a leisurely 8:00 in the morning. After breakfast, I took a relaxed walk around the hotel grounds (the site of an old castle) for about an hour.
Despite the chill in the air, the players were able to enjoy clear skies and fresh air, and it seems that they were able to overcome jet lag by getting plenty of sunlight.
After lunch, we took a bus for about 30 minutes from the hotel to VVV-Venlo's stadium in the neighboring country of the Netherlands. We borrowed the adjacent training ground for about an hour, and sweated through running, passing the ball, and small games to prepare for tomorrow's match against Bayer Leverkusen.
Comment from Captain Watanabe Takuya for tomorrow's match:
"Everyone is very excited because it's our first game in Germany. We want to show our strength!"
