FC Tokyo U-15 Fukagawa & Musashi Mixed Team will embark on a trip to Guangzhou, a major city in southern China, starting today to participate in a tournament called "Football Federation Cup" held at Guangzhou Evergrande Football School, the youth academy of Guangzhou Evergrande, who won the ACL last year.
This Guangzhou Evergrande Football School is a huge facility with a total of 48 soccer fields, including natural grass and artificial turf, making its scale truly out of this world.
Accommodation facilities are available for all participating teams to stay in. |
Today, on the first day of our expedition, we had a 5-hour flight from Haneda, followed by a little over 2 hours of travel from Guangzhou airport. Despite the short time, we were able to have a solid practice session.
It was very meaningful to see the players' atmosphere and feel that we were able to practice today, even though it was a moving day, in preparation for the tournament starting the day after tomorrow.
At the pre-practice meeting, coach Okuhara clearly stated the mission of this expedition as "winning this tournament". The players were also reminded to not only fight as "Tokyo", but also as representatives of "Japan".
You can convey a clear mission at the meeting. | Practice will be conducted immediately upon arrival. |
In addition, at the night meeting, the players themselves decide on role sharing, and there are also efforts to make the players from Fukagawa and Musashi, who do not usually practice together, get along as soon as possible. It is also very exciting to see how much they will grow in this short period of time.

The tournament will be held from the day after tomorrow, the 27th, with a total of 8 teams from China, Australia, and Japan.
