U-15 Fukagawa France Expedition Day 5

On the second day of the tournament, the fifth day of the France expedition will feature two matches in the morning and two matches in the afternoon.

The opponent in the first match is Nantes, a prestigious training club that has produced former French national team players Makélélé and Platini.
This will be an important match to advance to the knockout stage of the qualifying league.
After taking the lead early on, Nantes will change their attacking lineup.
In the second half, due to the opponent's intense pressure, there were many passive plays, resulting in losing control and conceding two goals. Unable to capitalize on chances for additional points, we ended up starting with a loss.

The next match will be against Dunajska Streda from Slovakia.
Utilizing the experience from the first match, we won 2-0.
To advance to the upper league, it depends on the results of Rennes and Nantes, but since Rennes won, we will be competing in the third league this afternoon.
Although it was a disappointing result as we aimed for the championship, the players will switch their mindset and prepare for the afternoon match.

The third match is against the selected team from the neighboring town of Sense, Grand Seno.
Although we won 2-0, we did not fully showcase our play as Fukagawa, so we will confirm what we need to do again and prepare for the next match.
During the meeting, I heard the interpreter's thoughts on this tournament.
"Everyone is seen as Japanese, so their play and every action is perceived as representative of what it means to be Japanese."
In France, clubs can offer professional contracts from the age of 14, and for example, if a player does not perform well in this tournament, their contract may end.
Therefore, when I watch everyone in Fukagawa, the determination in each play is indeed different compared to the 14-year-old playing in France.
Right now, as a Japanese person in France, there have been times when it has been difficult to communicate with those around me.
Even at such times, I talk to those around me saying, 'Japan is this wonderful.'
So, I am really looking forward to seeing everyone.
I want to see a match where everyone gives their all."
There were moments when I listened to the interpreter and felt teary, but it resonated with the players and staff.

And the opponent in the fourth match was Crain Fontaine.
Fukagawa, who couldn't enter the match well, conceded a goal in the first half, and the match ended 0-1.
We have identified the challenge of being able to consistently give our all in our play.

Today was a match that left me feeling very frustrated.
In order for the players to grow even a little in the remaining matches, the staff will hold deeper meetings and prepare accordingly.

However, the players are having intense matches, and statements from the players themselves are beginning to reflect the leniency of standards in Japan.
Feeling this difference is a great stimulus for me.
I will do my best until the end of the tournament.
