The "Gothia Cup" will finally begin today.
FC Tokyo will participate in the "U-17 Elite" category.
A group league consisting of 4 teams will play 3 matches, followed by a ranking tournament based on their results.
(Group stage matches are 60 minutes with 30 minutes per half)
The opponent for Tokyo's first group stage match is Djurgardens lF U-17 from the local Swedish League 1st Division.
The start was tense, and overall movement was sluggish, making it difficult to find a rhythm.
However, after 10 minutes, we gradually become able to move the ball in the opponent's territory.
15 minutes, GK Nozawa's punt kick, Ueda competes with the opponent's DF and breaks through to the back, but the opponent's GK comes out and collides, but Ueda quickly reacts to the loose ball and pushes it into the goal for the first goal!
In the 22nd minute, after a sharp ball recovery by Numata in the center of the pitch, Yasuda and Umehara combined to break through the opposing central defense, with Umehara scoring a goal!
The first half ends with a score of 2-0.
Stay focused even in the second half and don't allow the opponent to counterattack.
Tachikawa, who picked up the loose ball from the FK at the 50th minute, swung it with all his might and shot it fiercely, but unfortunately it was blocked by the opposing GK and no additional points were scored.
After that, the game was progressed by repeating player substitutions, and in the end, all members of the expedition, including GK Kamoshita who joined from U-15, stood on the pitch and the game ended. (According to the tournament rules, free substitution is allowed.)
We won the important first game with the strength of everyone.
Tomorrow's opponent is the strong Spanish team, Deportivo Alaves.
Striving with all our might to advance to the top tournament.
