[Work Overview]
'Captain Tsubasa' is a soccer manga illustrated by Yoichi Takahashi. It began serialization in 1981 in Shueisha's 'Weekly Shonen Jump' and has had a significant impact, especially on young soccer players in Japan.
Subsequently, a sequel depicting the growth of the protagonist, Tsubasa Ozora, and others was announced.
"Captain Tsubasa: Rising Sun" was serialized in Shueisha's "Grand Jump" until 2019, and starting in 2020, it has been published in the special edition "Captain Tsubasa Magazine" of "Grand Jump".
The total number of copies of standalone books and paperback books published in Japan has exceeded 70 million.
This is a hugely popular work that has been translated into 20 languages worldwide and published in many countries overseas.
