[Updated 7/13] Distributed "Aoa Drill (Exercise Drill)" to public elementary schools in Tokyo
[Updated on 7/13]
A class utilizing the created "Aoa Drill" was conducted at Fuchu City Wakamatsu Elementary School, so the implementation report has been added.
This time, as one of the initiatives to create opportunities for children to become familiar with exercise and to increase the number of children who feel that exercise and sports are enjoyable, we conducted a class using the "Aoaaka Drill" created at Wakamatsu Elementary School in Fuchu City.
On the day, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thorough infection control measures were implemented, including disinfection, staff wearing masks, and avoiding physical contact in the program content to ensure the safety of the children.
The children, with drills in hand, challenge various movements by referring to the examples and advice from the coaches of Ishikawa CC and the development department.
Even if things didn't go well, I kept trying without giving up, over and over again!!
At the end of the class, a message was delivered from Ishikawa CC to the children, saying, "Please use this drill at home or during breaks to challenge various movements together with your friends and family."
We hope many children will take on this drill and feel the joy of moving their bodies.
FC Tokyo will continue to work on the promotion of soccer and sports, including classes utilizing drills.
Thank you to everyone at Fuchu City Wakamatsu Elementary School.
This time, FC Tokyo has created the "Aoaka Drill (Exercise Drill)" focusing on improving children's "physical fitness" and opportunities to engage with sports.

At FC Tokyo, we have been conducting various soccer and sports promotion activities and initiatives in collaboration with schools, such as the "Caravan Team" where coaches visit elementary schools to engage with children, teacher training in partnership with the Board of Education, and visits to elementary schools by the players' association, all stemming from our desire for children to experience the joy of playing soccer, sports, and moving their bodies with friends.
In these efforts, we have considered how to improve children's physical fitness, reduce the number of children who dislike or struggle with exercise, and what initiatives can be taken to nurture children's minds and bodies through sports and physical education classes.
Therefore, this time, we have created the "Aoa Drill," an "exercise drill," with the aim of increasing opportunities for children to engage in exercise and sports during physical education classes and daily life, and to acquire the fundamental abilities necessary for lifelong health and enjoyment of exercise and sports through various physical experiences in their early years.

The creation of the drills was initiated by the club to provide children with the opportunity to enjoy physical activity indoors during the stay-at-home period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic last year (2020). We have developed these "exercise drills" while collaborating with the local board of education, focusing on their application in the area of the curriculum that promotes diverse movement through play.
This content is designed to allow children to experience various movements that serve as the foundation for skill acquisition during the so-called "Golden Age" of upper elementary school years in a fun way. It encourages children to engage actively and utilizes "balls" to connect to "games" and "ball sports" in upper elementary school.
The created drills will be distributed free of charge to first-grade students (approximately 10,400) in public elementary schools in six municipalities within Tokyo, to be used as supplementary materials to support lessons.
Distribution will begin sequentially to each eligible school from early July.
Furthermore, we will collaborate with elementary schools and boards of education that are utilizing the "Aoaka Drill," where coaches from the FC Tokyo Promotion Department will visit schools to conduct classes using the drill, aiming to enhance opportunities for children in physical education and sports.
