[Report] FC Tokyo Player Association Elementary School Visit
On Nov 9 (Tue), 16 (Tue), and 17 (Wed) in 2021, the FC Tokyo Players Association conducted visits to elementary schools.
This visit, the 14th as part of the FC Tokyo players' school visits, was conducted online again this year due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although it was through the screen, we enjoyed interacting with the children from our hometown.
□Comment from Takuya UCHIDA (FC Tokyo Players' Association Chairman)
“This year, all the players wanted to be a positive influence and give strength to the elementary school students in our hometown who always support us, so we conducted visits to elementary schools again. Since it was online, I was worried whether we could properly convey what we wanted to say, but I was relieved that we were able to have a much better conversation than expected. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot actually go to schools and interact with the students, but I believe there are things we can communicate just by talking, so it was really great that we were able to carry this out with the cooperation of everyone around us. By talking with the local elementary school students, we also felt that we need to work harder than ever before, and it reminded us that we must show the image of a 'professional soccer player who is an admired figure,' just as we envisioned when we were elementary school students ourselves.”
