What is Fukagawa-meshi?
At that time, supported by the rich fishing grounds of Tokyo Bay, the fishermen of Fukagawa ate a meal called "Bukkake Meshi" during their work breaks. This dish is characterized by its simple yet profound flavor, made with fresh clams and long green onions.
At food stalls, it is served as a bukkake style with broth poured over it, while at home it is popular as takikomi gohan (seasoned rice). Over time, it has evolved and is passed down as a famous dish representing Fukagawa.
