[For 1st and 2nd Grade Elementary Students] Summer Vacation Event "Futsal Skill Up Summer Clinic" Held!

From Wednesday, July 23 to Friday, July 25, we held the "Futsal Skill Up Summer Clinic" for 1st and 2nd grade elementary school students at Kodaira Citizen's General Gymnasium!

[Day 1]

We started with a meeting! We reviewed the schedule for the three days, the goals of the clinic, and the agreements.

The training theme for the first day is "Techniques to Take the Ball."

In the meeting, players prepared in advance using slides and videos, and they worked with serious expressions.

Many of the children were meeting for the first time and seemed nervous at first, but they quickly warmed up during the icebreaker, and many players actively participated in the discussion.

In training, players put into practice what they learned in meetings by challenging themselves with many "stealing" movements. In games, although they were somewhat confused by the unique futsal rules (substitutions and back passes) for the first time, there were many scenes where they utilized the skills they had learned.

After it was over, we thoroughly reviewed in the waiting room. We wrote "things we were able to do," "things we couldn't do," and "things needed for next time" in the booklet.
They worked hard together with the coach, even on tasks they were not used to!

[Day 2]

The theme of the day is "The skill of carrying the ball."

In particular, I challenged myself with the "late dribble" (intentionally slowing down to break through with the foot farthest from the opponent).
There were moments of confusion when hearing about the technology for the first time, but by watching the video and grasping the image, understanding gradually deepened.

In the gymnasium, training progresses step by step in the order of drills → one-on-one → matches, gradually leveling up.
It was impressive to see everyone concentrating and seriously working on even difficult techniques.

In the review of the second day, there were more players who could write more smoothly than on the first day.
Some players said, "I reviewed at home!" showing their eagerness to improve!

[Day 3]

The theme of the final day is "Techniques to Score Goals."

This time, we practiced futsal-specific shooting techniques such as toe kicks, instep shots, and second post shots. Especially when we introduced that Motoki NAGAKURA from the top team often uses toe kicks, the motivation went up with "I want to try it!"

During training, there were difficult points such as how to kick differently depending on time and space, and how to move in front of the goal, but everyone thought carefully and took on the challenge well.

In the final match, we saw many instances of players actively applying what they had learned over the three days. Even when not playing, they encouraged their teammates, which strengthened the teamwork!

After the training ended, we looked at the booklet and reflected on "how close we got to our goals" and "what we worked hard on." At the end, there was a surprise message video from Kento HASHIMOTO! There was a big cheer, and we were able to conclude the clinic with smiles♪

Of course on the court, and also off the court, I worked hard for three days with the mindset of "taking care of myself by myself."
It was impressive to see him carry his own luggage until the very end and greet each coach before leaving.

We look forward to seeing an even more powerful version of you!
