Q: Please tell us about the circumstances that led to your transfer to Tokyo.
A, Regarding the circumstances of deciding to transfer to Tokyo, I have told my family and friends for a long time that I have always hoped to play in Japan. In that context, I received an offer from Tokyo and decided to go to Japan without hesitation.
Q: What skills were evaluated from Tokyo?
A, I believe my strength lies in my ability to score goals. Of course, that is my job, and I think I was called to Tokyo to contribute to the team by scoring points.
Q, what aspects were you interested in when deciding on Japan?
A, I have heard a lot from my friends about the greatness of Japan as a country, and one of those is its politeness. I wanted to experience that charm, and I was most interested in Japan because I wanted to pass on the values of seriousness and discipline to my own children. Another thing is the J.League. I am curious to see how well I can compete in Japanese soccer, which has been growing rapidly in recent years.
Q: What is your impression of the team after joining the practice?
A, I think very highly of it. The strengthening department, the coach, and the team warmly welcomed me when I joined, and the team has clear goals. We are currently in the process, but I fully understand and accept it.

Q: Please tell us your impression of soccer in Tokyo.
A, the environment is well-established, and it is impressive that clear goals are set. For players belonging to Tokyo, they are teammates who warmly accept me, so I have a very good impression of both.
Q: Do you have a preference for your jersey number?
A, the jersey number I have often worn until now is number 28. I wore number 22 for just one season. When I joined Tokyo, number 28 was not available, and since the season I wore number 22 was a good one for me, I chose number 22 with that meaning in mind.
Q: What would you like to be called by fans and supporters?
A, please call me either Luiz or Phellype, whichever is easier for fans and supporters to say. I can respond to both, so please use whichever pronunciation is easier for you.
