INTERVIEW2022.3.16

Interview with Rei HIRAKAWA

Q, What kind of play did you have in mind when you entered the pitch in a difficult situation with one less player against Iwata?
A, First of all, I was conscious of not conceding and trying to score when there was a chance to attack.

Q, How do you reflect on your actual play?
A, There were several scenes where the ball was exchanged at the edge of the field, so we need to do more of that. In the attacking phase, we were able to make some through passes, so we want to increase those types of plays.

Q, were you able to actively showcase your strengths?
A, I didn't have the image of constantly giving direct passes, but I think it's important to play towards the goal whenever there's a chance, so I played with that mindset.

Q, last season I gained experience playing in the J2 league on a temporary transfer. Did you feel like you were able to utilize that experience in yesterday's game?
A, I think it's something I've been able to do since last season, not hesitating to jump in, including loose balls and ball-to-ball situations, so I want to show more of that.

Q, This time it's a chance from the Levain Cup, but what kind of play do you want to appeal with in the next opportunity to participate?
A, I think it is difficult to be involved in games including league matches just by playing, so it is important to show your own characteristics and play boldly on top of that.

Q, What do you think is necessary to express the soccer you want to play and win in the Levain Cup?
A, I think it's a club that definitely needs to win if you look at the player selection, so it's important to focus on winning first. Each individual needs to play more positively. There are also difficult parts in balancing what is required and not easily dropping the ball, but I felt that more aggressive play is necessary.
