INTERVIEW2022.3.16

Interview with Rei HIRAKAWA

Q: The match against Jubilo Iwata was played in a difficult situation with one player less. What kind of play did you focus on when you entered the pitch?
A, first of all, I was conscious of not conceding goals and, if there was a chance, getting involved in the attack to score.

Q: How do you reflect on your actual play?
A, there were several scenes where we switched positions during the ball contests, so I think we need to work on that more. In terms of offense, I was able to make a few through passes, so I would like to increase those types of plays.

Q: Were you able to actively showcase your characteristics?
A, I didn't have the image of continuously making direct passes, but I think it's important to play towards the goal when there is a chance, so I played with that mindset.

Q: Last season, you gained experience playing in the J2 League on a loan transfer. Were there any moments in yesterday's match where you were able to utilize that experience?
A, I believe that being able to dive in without hesitation for loose balls and in one-on-one situations is something I have developed since last season, so I want to showcase that more.

Q: This time, it's an opportunity gained from the Levain Cup, but how do you want to showcase your play in the next appearance?
AI think that just playing alone makes it difficult to be involved in matches, including league games, so I believe that the first priority is to clearly showcase my characteristics, and on top of that, it is important to play boldly.

Q: What do you think is necessary to express the soccer you want to play in the Levain Cup and to achieve victory?
A, looking at the selection of players, we definitely have to win, and I think that’s the kind of club we are, so it’s important to focus on victory first. Each individual needs to play more positively. There are difficult aspects in balancing not easily giving up the ball and what is expected, but I felt that more proactive play is necessary.
