Q, please tell us about the circumstances of your transfer to Tokyo.
As for the reason for transferring to Tokyo, I have always told my family and friends that I wanted to play in Japan. Among them, I received an offer from Tokyo and decided to go to Japan without hesitation.
Q, What skills were evaluated from Tokyo?
A, I think my strong point is my ability to score goals. Of course, that is my job and I believe I was called to Tokyo to contribute to the team by scoring points.
Q, What interested you in Japan as a decision?
A, I have heard a lot about the greatness of Japan from my friends, and one of the things that stands out is their politeness. I wanted to experience this charm and also pass on the values of seriousness and discipline to my own children, which is why I became most interested in Japan. Another reason is the J-League. I am curious to see how well I can compete in Japanese soccer, which has been growing rapidly in recent years.
Q, What is your impression of the team after joining the practice?
A, I think very highly of it. The strengthening department, coach, and team have welcomed me warmly for joining, and the team has a clear goal. We are currently in the process, but I understand and accept it firmly.
Q, Please tell me your impression of Tokyo soccer.
A, the environment is well-prepared and the clear goals are impressive. As for the players belonging to Tokyo, they are friendly teammates who accept me kindly, so I have a very good impression on both sides.
Q, Do you have any particular attachment to your jersey number?
A, My previous jersey number was 28. I wore number 22 for one season. When I joined Tokyo, number 28 was not available and I had a good season wearing number 22, so I chose to wear it again with that meaning in mind.
Q, What do you want to be called by fans and supporters?
Please call me either Luiz or Phellype, whichever is easier for the fans and supporters. I can respond to either name, so please call me whichever one is easier for you to pronounce.
