Announcement of positive COVID-19 test results for top team players and staff

We would like to inform you that 7 top team players (hereinafter referred to as players A, B, C, D, E, F, G) and 2 top team staff members (hereinafter referred to as staff A, B) have tested positive for COVID-19. The 9 individuals underwent PCR testing on February 20 (Sunday) and received positive results. They are currently receiving appropriate care under proper measures.
Based on the J-League guidelines for COVID-19, there are no close contacts related to this matter. However, under the guidance of the local health department, team activities will be suspended for 7 days from February 20 (Sunday) to February 26 (Saturday) to prevent the spread of infection.
The upcoming official matches for the top team (February 23rd against Jubilo Iwata, February 26th against Nagoya Grampus) have been canceled. For details, please check here.


□Player's condition and symptoms
<Player A>
On the night of the 19th (Saturday), a fever of 37.4 degrees, sore throat, and joint pain. On the morning of the 20th (Sunday), 36.5 degrees, with sore throat and joint pain. On the same day, the club conducted its own antigen test and PCR test, resulting in a positive diagnosis for COVID-19. Currently, the player is recuperating under appropriate measures.

Player B
No abnormalities during the day on the 19th (Saturday). Severe headache and sore throat at night. On the morning of the 20th (Sunday), a fever of 38.5 degrees was recorded. A club-specific PCR test was conducted on the same day, resulting in a positive diagnosis for COVID-19. Currently, the player is recuperating under appropriate measures.

Player C
No abnormalities during the day on the 19th (Saturday). Experienced severe headache and body heat at night. On the morning of the 20th (Sunday), had a fever of 38.5 degrees and fatigue. A PCR test was conducted by the club on the same day, resulting in a positive diagnosis for COVID-19. Currently, I am recuperating under appropriate measures.

Players D, E, F, and G
On the 20th (Sunday), all four had normal temperatures and no symptoms. On the same day, the club conducted its own antigen tests, which were negative. At the same time, the club conducted its own PCR tests, which resulted in a positive diagnosis. They are currently receiving treatment under appropriate measures.

<Top Team Staff A, B>
Both individuals showed no symptoms on the 20th (Sunday). A underwent a club-specific PCR test on the same day and tested positive for COVID-19, while B underwent a club-specific antigen test and PCR test on the same day and also tested positive for COVID-19. They are currently receiving treatment under appropriate measures.
