The Goshia Cup is the largest international youth tournament in the world, held since 1975. Over 1 million players from 147 countries have participated in this tournament, and in the past, players who later became stars globally, such as Xabi Alonso (Spain), Andrea Pirlo (Italy), and Emmanuel Adebayor (Togo), have also competed.
The team that won the J.League Best Youth Development Club Award participates in the following year's Gothia Cup as the J.League Academy representative team.
