Comment from 'Boat Race Heiwajima'

Boat Race Heiwajima is a boat racing venue operated by Fuchu City, Tokyo, celebrating its 72nd anniversary this year since its first event held on September 20, 1955.

In recent years, boat racing has attracted attention for its appeal as a competitive sport, including the advanced skills of the racers, the tactical maneuvers at the start, and strategic elements. We believe that the thrilling races can also be enjoyed by FC Tokyo fans and supporters.

The revenue from Boat Race Heiwajima is utilized for various social contribution activities through the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Nippon Foundation, as well as for the administration of Fuchu City, which operates the venue. This supports the development of facilities related to the elderly and cultural and educational institutions. Additionally, although Boat Race Heiwajima is currently undergoing stand renovations, in preparation for its grand reopening in fiscal 2028, it will continue to cherish its connections with the local community as a facility deeply rooted in the region.

The slogan "Tokyo Goes Wild" advocated by FC Tokyo resonates with Boat Race Heiwajima's management philosophy of "Heiwajima, continuing to challenge and change," and their attitude of expanding the appeal of sports together with the community strongly echoes Boat Race Heiwajima's initiatives.

The partnership between both parties is expected to further enrich Tokyo's sports culture and serve as a new step in promoting the appeal of diverse sports.
