[For 5th and 6th Grade Elementary Students] Summer Vacation Event "Futsal Skill Up Summer Clinic" Held!

From Monday, July 28 to Wednesday, July 30, we held a Futsal Skill Up Summer Clinic for 5th and 6th grade elementary school students at Kodaira Citizen's General Gymnasium!

[Day 1]

We started with a meeting! We reviewed the schedule for the three days, the goals of the clinic, and the agreements.

The topic of the first day is "Fixed Position Attacks in Zones 3 and 4."
The players prepared in advance during the meeting and approached it with serious expressions. They were seen deepening their understanding while being surprised by the unique techniques and tactics of futsal.

After moving to the gymnasium, start training after an icebreaker.
FP and GK trained with separate menus, and GK also participated together in practical training sessions.

In the game played at the end of practice, although there were some signs of unfamiliarity with the futsal rules for the first time (substitution method, back-pass rule), there were many moments where the learned skills and tactics were effectively utilized!

[Day 2]

From the second day onwards, activities will take place throughout the entire day.

The topic in the morning is "positional defense."

We confirmed, using the practice footage from the previous day, that each player is responsible for defending one-on-one in man-to-man defense.
Although we conducted complex training, many players adapted well as we had confirmed things during the meeting.
The game featured increased defensive intensity, resulting in a higher quality match compared to the first day!

After the training session, we hold a review meeting and each person fills out a booklet. We challenged ourselves to write specifically using the "5W1H" method.

The topic for the afternoon of the second day is "Press Avoidance."

Avoiding pressure is also a major role of the GK, and everyone trained with a strong sense of unity.
Since we trained on fixed-position defense in the morning, we saw very good offense and defense during the game!

[Day 3]

On the final day, many players greeted others themselves and carried their own luggage, showing growth even off the court.

The morning topic is "Transition Defense."
This training focuses on situations when the "press avoidance" practiced the previous afternoon did not go well.

After practice, a review meeting is held in preparation for the training match in the afternoon.
We reviewed what we have worked on over the past three days, and finally boosted morale by listening to "You'll Never Walk Alone"!

The opponent for the training match is the school student team attending the "Futsal Class" of the FC Tokyo Soccer & Futsal School!

Many players in the futsal school team have experience in the Vermont Cup activities (for more information about the Vermont Cup activities, click here), and it was a match against a very high-level team.

At first, there were moments of confusion due to the opposing team's coordination and sense of speed, but gradually we adapted and were able to demonstrate the results of our training so far!

After the training match, there will be a 3-day closing period.
I reflected by writing in the booklet whether I was able to get closer to the type of player I aimed to be and what efforts I made.
At the certificate awarding ceremony, each participant received a certificate from the coach and gave a speech sharing their thoughts and gratitude about the three days! Despite being nervous, it was impressive to see them sincerely expressing their thanks to their parents.

Finally, we watched a video reviewing the three days. At the end of the video, there was also a message from the top team player Kento HASHIMOTO!
The unique surprises at FC Tokyo's school events brought exclamations of surprise and joy from the children♪
