There are two types inside the pot: 'Karinto' and 'Mayuzumi'.

Karinto is glossy like glass, and its beautiful shape is a characteristic of Kagetsu's karinto.
The unique texture, crispy on the outside and crunchy on the inside, is the result of meticulous craftsmanship, including finely made dough and triple frying in oils at different temperatures.

Mayuzumi is a black karinto made with black sesame. Since it uses plenty of black sesame paste, when you take a bite, the firm texture and the soft, gentle aroma of black sesame spread softly throughout your mouth.

Yushima Kagetsu, the maker of "TOKYO DOROMPA Karinto," began in the early 1940s Showa era by opening a small traditional candy shop in Yushima, Tokyo, full of stylish and spirited charm.

Unlike the typical karinto made with brown sugar, this karinto is made by boiling white sugar until it becomes caramel, which is then coated onto the dough, giving it a jewel-like appearance. The texture when you bite into it is uniquely from Yushima Kagetsu's karinto, with a crispy exterior and a crunchy interior.
