[For 5th Grade Elementary Students] School Exchange Match (vs Yokohama F.Marinos)

School Report

On Apr 11 (Sat) at Nissan Field Kozukue, we held an exchange match with Yokohama F.Marinos school students for 5th grade elementary school students!

The day before's strong winds and heavy rain gave way to a summer-like heat for the interleague match.
Under the harsh conditions of strong sunlight, the school students fought fiercely while battling exhaustion.

Children are arriving at the venue one after another.
However, some children already showed signs of fatigue on their faces, as if they had succumbed to the heat.
Therefore, the coaches make an extra effort to greet energetically from the reception stage, actively communicate, and energize the school students for the match!

The matches consisted of a total of 4 teams: 1 team from FC Tokyo and 3 teams from Yokohama F.Marinos, and were held in a round-robin format for the 1st Round.

The opening ceremony has concluded, and we are now preparing for the match.
Actively communicate while remembering each other's names, and enhance the team's atmosphere through warm-up activities.
Before the match, we hold thorough meetings to organize both our mindset and tactics, ensuring we are fully prepared!

It took a little time for the students to get used to playing on the wide pitch and the heat, but gradually they started to get going.
There will be more communication encouraging each other to move here and to make plays like this.

As the matches progress, teamwork improves further, and coordination becomes smoother.
Continuing with that momentum, they scored repeatedly, and the team's growth was clearly reflected in their play.
Good plays by the school students naturally drew big applause from the stands, and the entire venue was wrapped in a sense of unity.

When a goal was scored, they cheered each other on with phrases like "Nice shoot! One more goal, one more goal!" and during corner kicks, they discussed among themselves who would take the kick. The children actively communicated with each other as they approached the match.

The team's growth while aiming for victory was very impressive.

After three matches, we finished the interleague with a winning record of 2 wins and 1 loss.
Although the students showed signs of fatigue, their faces reflected satisfaction and relief at finishing with a winning record.

I believe this experience has become a great confidence booster for the school students.

At the closing ceremony, a staff member from Yokohama F.Marinos spoke about how the school students who participated today carry the emblem they are currently wearing on their backs and look forward to the day they will compete at Nissan Stadium.

The children nodded and listened intently to those words with serious expressions, and I hope they carry that passionate feeling in their hearts as they aim for further growth through future practices and matches.

With a sense of fulfillment and anticipation, I headed to the stadium to support the top team.
The top team also won 3-1 against Yokohama F.Marinos, making it a great day for the school students and their parents as well!
