[Player and Coach Comments]
Masato MORISHIGE
Personally, I am very happy because it is a victory at Ajinomoto for the first time in about a year. I did not think I could easily return to top condition from the injury that kept me out for a long time last season since the beginning of this season.
I thought I needed to ignite a fire within myself, but today I was able to enter the match well and make bold plays.
As a team, we have not been performing well defensively in the last few matches, so we unified our awareness of 'pressing defense' that we had been working on since camp.
Additionally, while trying to maintain a compact formation, the FW has been dropping back, but that prevents us from attacking.
So today I focused on pushing up from the back and keeping it compact.
I think we actively pressed from the front and were able to win the ball in high positions, leading to good attacks.
The reflections from the recent match were utilized.
From here, it will be the representative period, but I want to do my best with the feeling of reclaiming my position in the Japan national team.
Kotaro OMORI
"(Did we win by running harder than Shonan, known for their hard work?)
Of course, it's important not to lose in simply running or hard work, but we are focused on first taking solid positions in both offense and defense, and then moving from there."
I think it was significant that everyone was able to do that.
(What instructions did the coach give?)
It was the same as always for me. I was just reminded, 'You know what to do!' (laughs). However, I felt the atmosphere of 'If you can't do it, there won't be a next time!!'...
Summary of the press conference by Kenta HASEGAWA, Tokyo's coach
I think being aggressive until the end today led to the 3 points.
Shonan Bellmare is also among the top class in J1 when it comes to the basics of soccer: "fight, switch, and run."
I believe that being able to fight boldly against such teams without fear and to perform in a way that surpasses the opponent will be a great confidence boost for the team.
With a wonderful goal from Diego OLIVEIRA, we took the lead with one point, and if we could score an additional point, the match would be decided, but additional points were hard to come by.
In such a development, it is common for the defensive line to lose focus for a moment, but they played solidly without losing concentration until the end.
Additionally, I believe that the players who came on as substitutes also applied pressure on the opponent from the front, and the fact that they did not allow good balls to be played during power plays was a factor that enabled us to fight without drawing a line until the end.
First of all, I want to thank the players for achieving our first league victory at home. I think it has been very tough with the consecutive matches, but I also want to thank the fans and supporters who cheered us on until the end.
I think we can finally say we have one victory, so I want to prepare thoroughly during the break and get ready for the next match.
Q=What are the current points for improvement given that we are struggling to score goals in the flow of the game?
The scene in the first half where Diego OLIVEIRA made a one-two play was one that could have easily resulted in a goal.
I think we are able to create chances. However, to improve the final part, we can only rely on training. I believe that without such training, our finishing ability will not improve.
Since we are entering a break period, I want to do that kind of training.
What is your evaluation of player Okazaki?
"They played calmly from the first half. There were moments when they got flustered when entering the attacking third, but I believe they did a good job throughout the 90 minutes."
Summary of the press conference by Shonan Coach CHO Kwi Jae
This is the first time we finished a league match with 0 points. I'm very frustrated, but we must turn this loss into something positive for the next match.
Not everything in today's match was bad; we were able to show some good parts. However, we couldn't score, and in the first play of the second half, we were caught off guard and conceded a goal.
However, I think it was good for me. Until now, we hadn't lost, so there was a feeling during this week's training that for such mistakes, "the players behind will manage somehow," or "the GK will stop it."
I think it's not a bad thing that the players have time to face this result as we move forward in the league matches.
However, we conceded a very heavy goal because we were caught off guard in the second half.
I believe that FC Tokyo's fighting spirit, or the will to fight, was among the highest in the matches I have seen. This attitude is something we must learn from.
What I felt in today's match is that if we want to compete in J1, including the players who come on as substitutes, we must minimize mistakes that make it difficult for the entire team to move forward.
The league will enter a break, but I want to use this break meaningfully to prepare well for the next match.
