[Player and Coach Comments]
《Adailton》
(Reflecting on Adailton's first goal, which was the team's second goal)
"It has been tough not being able to win until now, but I think it was good that we were able to score early in the first half today."
I received a good ball from Takahagi and was able to score. I was also able to calmly score the second goal.
I think it was really good that I was able to assist Diego's first goal.
(I think the desire to save the team with my goal was strong in this difficult team situation)
"It was very tough not being able to win for a while, but we lacked a bit of confidence. I believe we were able to regain that confidence with today's victory, and I am happiest about this result."
(Details of my first goal)
"When Takahagi had the ball and he was free, I made a run to increase the options, and the ball came to me, so I was glad to be able to convert that into a goal.
I was also happy to be able to score a goal after a long time.
(Details of my second goal)
"I focused on calmly placing the shot as I broke into space and the goalkeeper was coming out."
《Diego OLIVEIRA》
(I believed in the goal scene and entered the goal area, but looking back)
"In a very tough team situation, we were able to practice well every day, so I believed that we could eventually get out of this situation."
Today was really good among them. A great ball came from Adailton, and I was able to score a goal myself.
(What kind of feelings did you have going into today's match)
"Kashiwa is also a high-quality team, but they have been in a situation where they have not been able to achieve results, just like us."
I expected it to be a tough match. I was conscious of playing together by combining each person's strength, and I think it was great that I was able to score the first goal.
However, in the second half, Kashiwa's pressure was strong, and we had to defend for a long time, but I am relieved that we were able to endure and fight together to achieve victory.
(Wasn't it a goal scene that went in without being touched?)
"After the match, I was joking about that with Adailton. At that moment, the ball was rolling towards me, and I thought there was a defender behind me, so I pushed it in to ensure it would definitely lead to a goal in case someone cleared it."
I think today's goal is like the one I received from Adailton.
(After the match, I greeted the Kashiwa supporters and received applause, reflecting on scoring goals at my former home stadium)
"I am truly grateful to the Kashiwa supporters and everyone involved. I believe that it is thanks to this team that I had the opportunity to come to Japan and that I am who I am today."
Please respect me, I truly have no words of thanks. In this situation, today is a match, a competition, so I must score a goal and cannot afford to lose.
I would like to express my gratitude once again for the applause received even after the match ended.
《Yojiro TAKAHAGI》
(He was very active in both offense and defense today, but how does he feel about today's assist?)
"I approached the game wanting to start with good defense. In particular, I felt that if we could win the ball high up the pitch, chances would come, especially for the team's third goal."
(Regarding his performance in a difficult situation for the team)
"Since I haven't been able to win and there have been few opportunities to play in the league, I have been watching the team's matches objectively from the outside. I entered the match hoping that the entire team could play more aggressively, so I focused on being a connector in both defense and offense, allowing both defensive and offensive players to play boldly and being aware of my role in switching between offense and defense."
(There was a scene where they called out to the final line, but what was the intention behind it?)
"Especially at the beginning of the second half, there was a long period of being pushed back, and we talked about fighting patiently and tenaciously.
Also, in the second half, the opponent changed their system, so it took a little time to respond to that. We discussed the adjustments with the DF line and the midfield and changed our positioning a bit.
(Through today's match, I felt once again what it means to be Tokyo)
"Since there are agile players in the front line, I think the point where we can utilize that in both offense and defense is where Tokyo's strengths come out."
Today, as a team, we wanted to utilize the speed of Diego OLIVEIRA, Adailton, and Tagawa. I believe that is our strongest point. I think we can showcase the strengths of Tokyo by playing positively in both offense and defense.
《Tokyo - Summary of Director Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference》
I told the players that this past month of struggle was not in vain, and I believe they fought well in today's match.
In the previous match, we lost to Kashima, and it was made clear that we need to fight firmly in terms of ball contests and basics. With that in mind, we approached the game determined to show our spirit and fight.
A goal was scored in a good shape right from the start.
Indeed, a long-awaited victory feels exceptional, and I really feel that it's different. It truly feels great.
I felt once again how difficult it is to achieve a victory in the J League.
I want to switch gears and prepare well since the next match is coming soon.
(I felt that the midfielder Takahagi was very effective in the system)
"Until the last match, we struggled to connect the balls we won, so I hoped that Yojiro would play a good linking role, which is why I decided to use him.
I think it was a good timing that we were prepared for a week, and I believe they played while understanding our intentions well.
(What kind of discussions took place at halftime and how did you feel about the second half of the match)
"At halftime, I told them to absolutely not forget this frustrating month.
If we just accept the second half, nothing will remain. I told them to pour all their frustration into the remaining 45 minutes.
Kashiwa also changed their system in the second half, making it a difficult start to the second half, but I think it was significant that they were able to keep it at zero during that time.
It was a long-awaited clean sheet, and the players fought hard to maintain a zero until the end. There have been many careless goals conceded until now, so I believe they showed great determination and fought until the very end today.
Of course, I was hoping to create more time to move the ball calmly in the second half, but I didn't think everything would go well in this situation, so I believe we did well to score under those circumstances.
(What factors do you think have contributed to the team's improvement?)
"I don't think it changed all at once."
There were various challenges and trial and error up to this point, and there were times when things did not go well.
However, due to the complete dysfunction of the organization in the match against Yokohama FM, we conducted a review process again, including the match against Kashima.
However, it also diminished the players' positive energy in some aspects.
I believe that the period of struggle through such challenges was not bad at all, and I think I finally reached today's match after struggling and striving.
It wasn't that things improved all at once; during this period of struggle, we were able to take the time to reassess various things with the players, and I think it's great that we could connect it to results today.
《Kashiwa - NELSINHO Coach Press Conference Summary》
"Today's game was characterized by a very poor start. It felt as if the players who entered the pitch had their minds completely blank. There were many mistakes, and we conceded three goals in quick succession within the first 10 to 15 minutes of the game."
In the midst of that, when the game was stopped for a water break, I encouraged everyone to once again focus on what we need to do.
From there, I think the team regained balance and created several chances and scoring opportunities.
However, they were unable to finish there again and made a system change at halftime. The system was changed with the aim of increasing the number of players in the forward line.
Although we created chances, we couldn't shake the net, and because we put more players up front, we were exploited by the gaps in our defensive zone and suffered several fast attacks.
I think there were particularly many situations like that in the second half.
